Vehicle Detail
This beautifully maintained 1999 BMW R SERIES-R1200C is perfect in both form and function. Check out the suspension on this amazing motorcycle. Doesn't the rear suspension remind you of a top notch motocross dirt bike? And doesn't it look great? The rear suspension specs are Die cast aluminium single sided swinging arm with BMW Motorrad Monolever; central strut, spring pre-load mechanically adjustable. What this means to you is a dialed in controllable ride that you can adjust to your own weight and can cater to your preference for a softer or firmer ride. This bike is referred to as the James Bond bike because it was the model used in the movie "Tomorrow Never Dies". It is a limited production bike and only 6407 were made in 1999. This rare bike will greatly appreciate in value!BMW calls the front suspension: "BMW Motorrad Telelever; stanchion diameter 35 mm, central strut". I call it AWESOME. The feeling of control and stability in this 1999 BMW-R-Series is confidence inspiring. And it's light in weight in comparison to a full dresser which makes it much easier to handle and maneuver. There are numerous safety features including ABS brakes. The bike is fuel injected and gets approximately 50 mpg at highway cruising speeds. I am the original owner and purchased this bike for $14,500 from Baxter motorcycle in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. It only has 950 miles on it and is in pristine condition. It is a collector's item. Extras include: original saddle bags and mounting hardware, windshield, comfort seat for passenger, engine guard, workshop manual, new battery installed in 2009, battery charger/tender and bike cover. All required service was performed by a BMW dealership and highly qualified, well recognized mechanics. I have all supporting documents, receipts and original brochures that go along with this bike. Buyer is responsible for arranging to personally pick up the bike or arrange to have the bike moved within 14 days of purchase. The bike is located in Portland, Oregon. Payment must be made by cashiers check or by cash in person and bike can be picked up or moved after payment is cleared. This bike is also listed locally and if it sells locally, I will remove it from the auction before the auction ends.
