Vehicle Detail

How COOL is this!?! This is a recently retired Police bike from Florida State University, complete with fully functional lights and full Seminole decals and everything. This bike is a 2005 BMW F650GS-P, the P of course stands for special Police edition. It has 29k miles, which for a BMW is nothing. It’s not in fancy, perfect condition, it has experience and character, and it is definitely one of a kind. It has the low seat installed for easy riding and lower center of gravity. It runs perfectly and has been maintained under the police contract with nothing but original BMW parts and service and meticulously cared for in all mechanical details. The bike has obviously been a real working police bike, not a faker, and it shows some of its history in its scars. No major damage at all, but it has some scrapes and bumps. The seat has a small tear, you can see it in the pictures. The side cases have some dents and scrapes, again nothing major, but they show their active duty. There are two cracks in plastic parts, one on the front fender, one on a side panel. Both have been drilled with a stop hole, so they won’t keep growing, neither is a big deal or structural. The windshield is an upgraded Cee Bailey windshield, and it is clear and nice, but has some cracks around the mounting bolts. The rear tire is good, but the front will need replacing soon. The chain and sprocket are in excellent condition and look super well maintained as you would expect with a police bike. This bike has a side stand and a center stand, which is really nice to have. This is a chance to own a super cool one of a kind motorcycle for a really affordable price. Even without the super coolness factor of all of the police gear, this is a great price for this motorcycle. Whether you are a Seminole fan or like cop bikes, or just want a cheap BMW that runs great, this is a deal. Of course, you can’t just ride around with the lights and siren and stuff turned on. The siren is currently disconnected, but functional. The lights are all hooked up and work completely. There is an additional light/siren module in the saddlebag that is not hooked up at all but you can have it. You should check your local laws about what you can leave functional or what you have to disconnect. FSU sold this bike with all this stuff hooked up and all the decals on it, but it certainly has to be stripped down at least somewhat before you can ride around with it. Maybe you are with a small police department that wants to add a patrol motorcycle to your units? If so, you really get a deal if you buy this one! Maybe you just want a great commuting bike for a really affordable price? This bike can handle any terrain and any type of riding. You can see this bike at our motorcycle school in Eustis, at 355 Plaza Dr, Eustis, FL 32726 or you can call us for more information at 352-589-1658. We are here between 10am and 6pm Monday through Saturday. This bike has never been used for any kind of training, of course, we just bought it when FSU retired it and now we are selling it. You have to pay sales tax and title/registration/tag if you are going to register it in Florida, but other than that there will be no type of dealer add-ons or any other charges, of course. Here are specifications from the internet for the F650GS: Narrowly focused sportbikes to the left, massively overwrought tourers to the right...is there any place left for the simple, do-it-all motorcycle? Sure there is, and far from becoming an endangered species, the lightweight enduro - a kind of motorcycle that embodies off-road capabilities alongside roadworthy manners tailored to please experienced and beginning riders alike - has become immensely popular around the world. Between 1995 and 2003, BMW has sold more than 110,000 F 650s, with 32 percent of the latest versions going to female riders worldwide). What's more, some 21 percent of F 650 buyers were new riders. And now, for the 2005 model year, BMW's entry in the amazing category returns refined, refreshed and ready to do business. Crossing continents, crossing boundaries. No motorcycle can do everything, but the BMW F 650 GS and the F 650 GS Dakar come close. Based on the fundamentally flexible "enduro" concept, the F 650 line has been carefully developed to meet a broad range of requirements, to enable cross-country travel in comfort as well as jaunts across town with consummate ease. Here is the information on the “Authority” package from the BMW Police website: Operation of Authority Controls: The special RH switch controls the emergency lights. These lights are powered from the auxiliary battery, but that battery is recharged from the motorcycle alternator when the engine is running. The four standard LED lights will operate for 1.5 hours without engine running. The first position activates the rear lights, second position activates both front and rear. Lights operate with ignition “on” or “off”. The former high beam flasher switch now operates the BMW/Code 3 siren system. The siren only functions with ignition “on”, to reduce likelihood of accidental operation. Press the button to turn the siren “on”. Each subsequent press of the button will scroll the siren from wail to yelp, to hyper-yelp, then back to wail again, etc. To turn the siren “off”, press & hold the button. To operate the siren momentarily, press, then press & hold. The siren air horn operates using the motorcycle horn button. When ignition is “on”, the horn button will activate the 100W air horn feature of the BMW/Code 3 siren system. The series horn may be removed for weight savings as it no longer will function. The power socket on the rear box is used to charge the 6Ah maintenance-free battery in the box. When the motorcycle is not running, the battery is isolated from the system, which means that the main and auxiliary battery must be charged separately.
