Vehicle Detail
For sale, 1987 Chevy Turbo Sprint. I am the original owner.......I bought this car after I graduated high school as I wanted a good commuting car for school. It was nice that Chevy just came out with the turbo model, cause it was nice a sporty. This car has taken me everywhere, including my honeymoon in '89. It was sort of a joke to keep it around long enough for my oldest son to drive, and he did through high school. Then my youngest drove it as well, until some dumb neighbor backed into him and tore up the passenger side. This car had NEVER been in a wreck until that day. The motor is ORIGINAL. It has 353,200 miles on it. Please do not expect it to run like new! I have done routine maintenance, such as 3,000 mile oil changes since day 1. It does have a lot of newer parts that include: - Tires - only 8,900 miles on them (I get 60,000+ miles on a set) - Water pump, timing belt, front wheel bearing seals, newer CV axles - installed only 2,000 miles ago. - New clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, rear main seal, transaxle seals, spark plug wires, new Distributor - installed only 5,000 miles ago - New muffler - 8,000 miles - the rest of the exhaust system is only about 2yrs old. - I have detailed maintenance records available in Excel format. The car gets about 26 mpg, as it has low compression in 2 of the cylinders...about 50lbs. I just don't have the time anymore to do a full or partial rebuild of the engine. Most likely it only needs new rings. What do you expect at 353,000 miles! It has been sitting for about 4 months now, but starts right up and I drive it around the block a few times each month. I love this little car, but it is time to let it go. I would really like to see it go to someone who would rebuild it or use the parts for another one of these sweet little rockets. Good luck! -
