Vehicle Detail

For Sale is a fabulous 1987 Red Porsche 944 I just bought from my former law partner's son in an estate sale. I am a lawyer in Peoria, Illinois. My law partner died in 2001 and his son had this 1987 almost new Porsche in storage at his house. His wife died several months ago and all of his cars were sold locally at his estate sale two weeks ago. I picked up this future collectors car at that estate sale. It is a two owner car purchased originally in 1987 and driven for four years, with approximately 29,000 miles on it through 1991. Then, my former law partner bought it in 1991 and it was driven sporadically over the next ten years (miles 29,000 to 44,000). It has been in storage since 2004. I now own it but do not need the extra car. Although it is a fun sports car, I have four kids and they do not fit well in the car obviously. Thus, I am going to sell it. I bought it at a good price and simply want to get it to a Porsche enthusiast who will take care of it. It has a new battery and a new fuel pump. When I bought it two weeks ago, because it had been in storage, I towed it to the local Porsche dealer (Autohaus of Peoria) and had them thoroughly check it out and get it running perfect. I spent about $900 on a new fuel pump, for all the basic maintenance, etc. It now runs like new. It is a fabulous car. If it is owned by a proper owner, it can be driven everyday as a cool car or it can be really fixed up into a show car. There are not many 1987 sports cars you will find like this. It truly is a gem. All of the guys at the Porsche dealer loved it. I have a 100% rating and I want to keep it that way. I am describing the car accurately and the best I can. It is truly a great car. There are a ton of pictures posted to see it. It is only for sale for a week and then its gone. I bought it for a great price and so I am willing to sell it for a good price. Please do not ask for the reserve price. If you like the car, bid on it. It will only be sold through Ebay properly. I will end the auction early if it sold locally before the week is up or if the right price is met. You make an offer through Ebay privately at any time through my email, but it must be done properly through email. All of the equipment is original and like new. The floor mats are original and in good shape. The interior is flawless. The seats are perfect. The dash is like new. It really is fabulous. The tires are in great shape. It runs great, and fast, and the transmission shifts flawlessly. I had not driven a stick shift in 20 years and it was nothing to pick it right back up. There are two minor flaws that would need fixed to make it a perfect collectors car or show car. It has a ding on the drivers door that you can see in the pictures and the top of the hood in front is indented slightly. It looks to me like someone sat on the hood when it was sitting in storage and pushed it lightly in because it is a round indentation. Both can be fixed easily but I wanted you to know the only flaws that I see. Good luck bidding. It will be a nice car for the winner. On Jun-24-10 at 05:19:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I REDUCED THE BUY IT NOW PRICE AND RESERVE PRICE THIS MORNING. THERE ARE ONLY THREE DAYS LEFT. GOOD LUCK BIDDING.On Jun-25-10 at 06:17:48 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE HAS BEEN MET. HIGHEST BIDDER WINS. GOOD LUCK BIDDING. On Jun-26-10 at 06:28:25 PDT, seller added the following information: The Buy it Now Price is $7,200.00 For some reason, it is not showing up. Let me know if you are interested. Bidder mhubbs1 had placed two bids and then retracted both of them. I believe he was simply trying to find out how high other bidders maximum bid was. He has been blocked from further bidding. Good luck bidding. On Jun-27-10 at 07:01:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Good morning. Last day of bidding. Over the last two days, two bidders retracted their bids after bidding $6,700 and $6,800 respectively. I do not know why they did so, but they did. That has caused the bidding to now be messed up. The high bid currently is westernw26 at $5,900. Because the other two bidders had outbid him, he thought he was not the high bid and he went out and purchased another car. Thus, he emailed me this morning and ask that I remove him from bidding. Westernw26 is now off the hook from bidding per his request since he purchased another car. My reserve price was $5,900. As a result, the reserve will not be met if I remove westernw26 at this time. Therefore, I am leaving him on now for purposes of selling to another bidder only. If no one else bids and the car stays at $5,900, then it will not be sold at this time and westernw26 will not be obligated to buy the car. If someone else bids more than $5,900, they will buy the car as per the normal ebay process. The two bid changes have cause quite a difficulty for no reason. Sorry for the inconvenience.
