This is a 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Indianappolis 500 Pace car with a 455 Olds rocket installed. As you can see the drivers side decal is still on the door but the passenger side has been removed. The car came with a 403 from the factory but it now has a mid 70s 455 Olds engine with an Edelbrock Performer camshaft for a small block Olds. The engine has plenty of bottom end power. These cars had 2:41 rearend gears for the interstate from the factory. I had another one of these cars with a similar setup that got 18 mpg cruising at 70 with the ac on. The trans is a 350 turbo that I was told was recently overhauled before I bought the car 7 years ago. The engine had new rings, bearings,oil,water pump installed along with the cam kit mentioned before it was installed in the car. The car has been in storage for the past 7 years being driven a few times. This pace car is the only one I have seen with a floor shift,console and bucket seats. all the other ones I have seen are column shift and bench seats. The car has a factory aluminum hood and it is light. The car has AC but it is not charged. It also has power steering, power windows and power brakes. The cruise worked with the 403, but the vacuum motor pushrod needs to be modified to work with the older style linkage. The car does need new bumper fillers. The car runs and drives ok. The car does not have any exhaust beyond the manifolds and is very loud. It has tilt steering. and the factory AM FM stereo that works well. Please email any questions.
