1973 Honda CL

This is a fine example of a early off-road type machine that Honda came out with and simply refined over the years. This low mileage machine has seen very little use and is a pretty bike with very little rust anywhere. I bought this bike in Utah, 7 years ago and paid a fair chunk of change to have it shipped to the Michigan and drove it around for a day, then drained the fluids and put the bike in a temperature controlled environment (hey...my basement) with gas tank off. It has been there ever since. I planned on keeping for my grandkids, but did not plan on moving. Well times change and things change so now my collection of bikes are going on the block. Study the pictures and you will see the few flaws it does have. Note that the headlight case has a chip out of it, and the key entry to the gas tank was jimmied up some with a screwdriver. Both of these things can be fixed easily...I just never got around to it. The carbs are empty, but everything is put back together and ready for gasoline. The tires are like new and have no checking. There is one small scratch on the tank...but no dents. Tank is clean and lacks rust that can plague them from the use of oxygenated fuels...so this tank should be coated or run with zero alcohol in the fuel system. I can explain to anyone who buys this so that they will have years of use from it without harm. Even the "bells" on the carbs are bright and shiney...as these were notorious for pitting up over time. There is some flecking of rust on the chrome wheels, but a good brushing and some clear coat will end that. The seat is rust free, tear free and opens and closes as it should. Yes there is the tool kit in the box and the owners manual is under the seat where it belongs. Note the aluminum casings are un-pitted and still clear coated. This machine is as close to museum quality as they get. I have title in hand and these bikes are going...ask questions, and I will tell you no lies. Anyone comes to see this bike after buying it, can back out if it doesn't look as good as the pictures show...it is that nice. I am NOT concerned with selling it again. The bike can be seen if you are local, and I can take more pictures of this bike if you need a close up of something not pictured. The rest of these bikes, including the big brother to this 350 (double overhead cam 450) will be coming up to auction soon....so watch for them as they get listed.
