Vehicle Detail
I purchased this 1955 2nd series Chevy 3/4 ton pickup in 1982 from the 2nd owner, who had used it as a farm truck since about 1960. The odometer on it showed 29,999, but was not working. I put in a new odometer & set it to 0 miles, when I had it frame off restored in about 1984 or 1985. It is a 235 straight 6 cylinder engine. It is a 3 speed on the floor, plus a granny low. The engine and transmission have not been touched. It has never failed to start in the 28 years I've owned it. I have only driven it 1569 miles since it was restored, generally in parades & to car shows. I added a 1955 radio to it when it was restored, & it works. It has the original jack with it. New tires were put on the split rims when it was restored. I put on new shocks, wheel cylinders, & rebuilt the master cylinder. I added blinker lights to it. It comes with the owners manual, shop manual, as well as a new blinker/cancel ring. All of the chrome was rechromed on it. The color is called "commercial red", which was the original color of the truck - it has an orange tint to it. It had 5 coats of paint & 3 coats of sealer. Being a 25 year old restoration, it has some knicks in the red paint, & the white bumpers. The tan interior needs some touch up. A new pine bed was installed with stainless steel metal strips. NADA values this truck at $28,700 high retail, and $11,160 average retail, and the modest reserve is under average retail. Please email me any questions you might have & I'll try and answer them, & send more pictures if needed. Vehicle can be picked up in Excelsior Springs.
