Vehicle Detail
Clean, strong running 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE7 in desirable Java Black Pearl with an Alpaca leather interior. Non-smoker, no signs of pet abuse, no funky smells. Starts, runs and drives nicely. If you've owned a Land Rover you know of their legendary capabilities on and off road. You also know they can have their issues from time to time. This Disco is not perfect, but in my opinion it is better than most out there. My wife drives it as her daily driver, but she prefers the old Classic Range Rovers and I have one in the works for her. Time for the Disco to go to a new home. The truck has a clean Autocheck report and the miles are correct. Sold new in FL and spent all of its life in the south. Clean and rust free underneath. I've owned a lot of Rovers and I can tell you that you don't want one from the land of road salt. The paint is quite good with a deep, glossy shine - a few scratches but nothing to detract from the overall appearance. I can not find a single door ding on the truck. The plastic fender trims have faded a bit (per usual) but the rest of the plastic parts are in good condtion. There are a couple of cracks in the plastic panel where the wipers attach, but nothing is loose or coming apart. There is a small repair to the rear bumper plastic next to the rear step and the driver side rear mudflap has a melted bit (apparently folded up against the exhaust at some point) but that is about it. Both sunroofs work fine and the roll shades are in place. The headliner is very good - just a couple of loose spots in two corners. All windows roll up and down properly (auto down on the front two). Central locking works on all doors. The power seats function in all modes. The seats are a bit discolored from UV fading, but other than a 3" scuff on the driver seat side panel (from the seat belt rubbing on it - see the picture) there are no tears. The interior plastic and dash wood trim are nice. The suede panels on the doors show average to little wear for the age. The original floor mats are in place and are in good condition. All carpet is original and tidy. All glass is good. The stereo and CD changer work perfectly. All speakers sound good (no buzzing). Never tried the cassette player. The dual-zone climate control system functions perfectly and cools quite well in blazingly hot South Carolina. There is a rear AC system for the rear seat passengers and it is fully functional as well. The rearmost jump seats have audio control panels at each seat, but I've never tried them. I have no reason to suspect they would not work, I've just never sat back there. There is a rear door mounted spare on a factory rim. It does not match the four, nearly new tires but it is serviceable and holds air. The tires have at least 75% tread remaining. The factory jack, handle and wrench are in the underhood storage bin. All manuals and the early (up to 50,000 miles) service records are in the glove box. Overall, a solid, good running truck that is ready to get in and drive. Remember, it is a Rover - You'll be greeted by the "Three Amigos" lights (ABS, TC and Hill Descent Control) once in a while but they reset when you shut down and restart. This is pretty much standard procedure on the later model Discovery vehicles. Likely a dirty or worn ABS sensor, but all systems have checked out OK and I've never worried about it. Pages have been devoted to this on Land Rover forums, so I won't get into it here. No other warning lights/bells/whistles/etc. I took a dash photo with the truck running to show there are no lights on. Same for the CD player display and climate control - all working fine. Recent (two weeks ago) full service to include front and rear diff service. Spotless underneath - no oil, coolant or trans fluid leaks. It is a great looking Land Rover and it is fun to drive. Not perfect, but the price reflects that. You can spend hundreds or even thousands more on an '03 SE7 from a dealer, but why would you? I am happy to help with shipping arrangements and can even set something up for you, but transport cost is the Buyer expense. Feel free to call with any questions you may have. (843) 321-1648.
