Vehicle Detail
1986 4 door 5-speed 223-Turbo with the factory up-graded short-block, NO LIENS ON THIS VEHICLE!!, NO DAMAGE! PLEASE READ MY DESCRIPTION BEFORE TAKING THE CAR-FAX TOO SERIOUSLY!! This vehicle contains the highly rated newer heavy-duty connecting rods, with oil dispersment tank. Only 800 or so, of these rare Turbo-diesels made it into this country, and only 400 of them received this upgraded powerful engine block from Isuzu, and very few with the other options this one has. I have all of the dealer paperwork, invoices and receipts for LOTS of replacement parts, the engine short-block installation, and repairs and maintenance over the years...a small book of them. One of these just sold here for a historically low amount of $8.K....they usually bring closer to the $10K mark, IF you can find one. I have priced this one lower in regards to the title, cost of paint, and any imperfections that might be present to bring it back to a pristine condition... This unit also has great power steering, power brakes, COLD air, great heat, and the up-graded engine system, putting it into a very hard to find, rare class. This cool little truck runs strong, smooth, very cool engine-running temperature, and as it should be, according to the parameters set in the Chilton and Isuzu original operating manuals. It goes straight down the road with no pull right or left, and has maybe 1/2 inch max play in the wheel, very accurate steering! Runs smooth and idles/pulls strong at 750-800 r-p-ms through 3500 r-p-ms ( I choose not to go any higher), and drives so well you will find it surprisingly very comfortable, dependable, and relaxing. 3000 rpm in 5th has you at approx. 65 mph. and this truck averages between 32 and 36 MPG. These engines are known to get over 500.000 miles. The following items have all been replaced within the last 6 months; Rebuilt Garret Turbo, new starter, rebuilt alternator, Timing belt, water-pump, Hoses, Belts, all shocks, tie-rods, ball joints, boots, brake-pads, front and rear, K&N filter, Glow-plugs, glow plug-controller, and fuel delivery system sensors, fuel and oil filters, New battery, 4 wheel alignment, reconditioned/adjusted steering box, all links greased, all oils and trans/transfer case oils replaced with lucas additives and motor oil as-per scheduled Isuzu recommendations. Front engine seals replaced, all fuses checked, all movable linkage greased and adjusted. These services and many others not mentioned here have receipts. All doors, windows, locks and hood function correctly. Tinted windows are in fairly good shape, window weather-strip is also in fair to good condition. Clutch is very strong and it is a positive hydrolic system. The doors, as you can see, stay open well on a steep hill, great for those off-road adventures!..NO RUST THAT I AM ABLE TO SEE ANYWHERE, NO HOLES OR DAMAGE ANYWHERE Body is straight as an arrow.. This is a 7-owner vehicle from Arizona and Idaho. I have also added the following to the vehicle if bids reach $5K; A German "Auto-box" that cost $400, a bra, $35 steering wheel cover, $15 J-V-C C-D player with all new speakers, over $200, Galaxy 965 very custom side-band CB radio, $225 Tom-Tom G-P-S, $140 overhead console with lighted incline-ometer, $150 , Sheep skin front seat covers, $150, 4 new mud flaps custom fit, $100, floor mats, $30, pet-barrier, $55, receiver hitch and ball, $35. and over $300 in extra parts, tail-light lenses, glow-plug controllers, books, tie-rods, etc....over $1,800 in extras... I would drive this vehicle anywhere, it is that dependable. I am selling because it was to be used as our "towed" vehicle behind our bus (that we are now, not purchasing) so our plans have changed, and we do not need another vehicle. If you choose to go "bio-diesel, or propane injected" you can possibly see 40 MPG as a very realistic number. This truck will arrive with a fresh oil/filter/fuel-filter change. (K&N air filter will last for a long time) NEGATIVES; Possible Cold-Start-Device "CSD" malfunction. burns whit, unburned diesel if not "pre-plugged" into the block heater for 45 minutes, if plugged in, all is fine. Paint has chips around windshield and windows, Right rear quarter panel hit in 2005, ins. co. salvaged it for 1 light body hit. Runs like a top, smooth, maybe a quarter size iol leak after a long drive. CALL OR E-MAIL FOR ALL OTHER QUESTIONS, i HAVE A TON OF INFO. 931-707-9797 JOSEPH ZAROLA O_HENRY@FRONTIERNET.NETOn Jun-10-10 at 06:12:54 PDT, seller added the following information: This Trooper was purchased, and spent 80% of it's life in Arizona, the other 20% in Idaho...there is no rust in the frame, the frame is straight with no damage, and I can find no rust. The white paint job is crummy, with chips around the windows and windshield...but it looks O.K. from 10 feet.On Jun-10-10 at 10:03:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I tried to add pics, but E-bay will not allow it with a bid, unless I cancel the auction. So the only way i can get pics to you is if you e-mail me for them. I will send pics of the under-carriage if you need them. o_henry@frontiernet.net Thanks, Joseph Z. 931-707-9797On Jun-10-10 at 11:16:32 PDT, seller added the following information: The low carfax score is primarily the 7 owners....there is NO damage to this vehicle, only a repaired right rear quarter-panel, and there are NO title liens or issues of any type...this vehicle is another victim of the insurance companys rape of the consumers...On Jun-10-10 at 12:25:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I am receiving various offers/trades. I will not entertain a trade until the auction runs it's course. I also will not offer this Trooper for sale locally. JZ.On Jun-11-10 at 06:00:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, the emergency brake works excellently. The hood latch is excellent, and all the heat/air vents operate correctly. There is no rust in the floor that I can detect by lifting the carpets, and the headliner has 1 small 1" tear in it. The u-joints were not replaced, but are tight. On Jun-11-10 at 13:56:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, I believe this Trooper is very sound for a long road trip. It is 24 years old, and is sold "as-is". If the new owner familiarises him/herself with this particular type of vehicle, practices good maintenance habits, and does not abuse, or over-drive it, it should last for many good years to come. I have all oil schedules and information to pass along. These diesel troopers are a blast to drive, and they are very comfortable. Try to find a seasoned diesel mechanic in your area to schedule valve-adjustments, repairs, etc...it will be a good idea for long use and peace of mind. Best to all. I wish I did not have to sell it. JoeOn Jun-11-10 at 17:00:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Just remembered, the driver's door has a noticable "click" in the hinge when opened, it is not bad, or damaged, it is just a small annoyance. The new hinge pin is approx. $24 if you do decide to replace it. On Jun-11-10 at 19:13:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, there are a few small cracks in the dash-top, but it is covered with a very nice after-market dash-mat...hard to find one of these from a dry area without a cracked dash...On Jun-11-10 at 19:15:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, the paint is very good under the bra.On Jun-12-10 at 04:00:06 PDT, seller added the following information: That is an electric compass on the rear-view mirror...
