Vehicle Detail
I had my first ride in an MG in this TC the summer of 1955. I've known this car well for the last 55 years. It has never been stored or forgotten in a barn or owned by a starving college student. It has been used sparingly , usually less than 100 miles a year since new. When the car was delivered it was Sequoia Cream, but the new owner wanted a black TC so it was painted with black nitrocellulose and red under the fenders and under the hood. This is not necessarily what I would have done but I have intentionally not repainted it, trying to keep it the way I have always known it. The paint is now in poor condition. All the components on the car are the originals, not just the original headlights and foglight but the original bulbs. And they work. All the instruments work. The dash has its original rexine covering. Unfortunately the seats were replaced with new leather modern reproductions before I was able to purchase the car. I would have kept the originals. The black canvas top is there, the black canvas side curtains are there. The original tool kit in the original tool roll are there along with the tire pump. Six years ago I switched the oil to Mobil 1 15w-50 replacing the non detergent 30 weight oil that had been used for more than half a century. I also completely renewed the brake system and installed silicone brake fluid. The exhaust system is stainless steel. The car always starts, runs well, and drives very well. Mechanically it doesn't need anything. The Dunlop B5 tires are old but still retain nearly all their tread. The black canvas tonneau is in nice shape and is nearly new. The engine is of course the original numbers matching engine. I have shown the car regularly and am an active member of the New England MG T Register. The car was on the show field at MG 2006 at Gatlinburg. I have had it on the track at a GOF South at Sebring and other shows in Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana. $500 is due at the end of the auction via Paypal and the balance is due with certified check. No warranties or guaranties are expressed or implied. I will be glad to assist with shipping from the standpoint of helping to load the car on a transporter.
