1988 VW Cabriolet Convertible 5 speed 97k miles. Super nice survivor. This car has been converted to a n/a weber/holley carburetor machine.I guess when my friend bought the car it had been sitting for many years and being barelly driven it had messed up all the fuel injection stuff on it ,so him being a crafty welder he made his own intake and put a late 80s holley/weber of a ford pinto.Let me tell you for a 2 year project and a full carb conversion it works great.In the morning you do have to warm it up a little bit but runs great. It has 97508 miles on it.5 SPEED manual tranny,shift perfect and runs great.It has a super clean car fax so I would say miles are original.I try to use it everyday but sometimes I ride my motorcycle to work. Here is the good.It has a very clean interior,no wear and tear that you would expect from a car this age.All electrical works,nice pioneer CD player,(sound very good)it has super hot heater and super cold ac.It has been painted about a year ago in this great looking 2 tone red/black combination.It comes with 17" aluminium wheels with general performance tires.(tires made in france)good quality(theres about 3500 miles one the tires.) the top was replaced a year ago also.works perfect,the exhaust has been redone from the cat back and has a nice turbo II muffler on it its sounds great but not loud.I just recently put new fuel filters,cv joints,all new struts(front and rear),rear drums with new shoes and wheel cylinders,oil pan and gasket,intake and exhaust manifold gaskets,valve cover gasket,full timing kit,new plugs,wires cap and rotor,new belts,I can keep going I have over $1000.00 in receipts that we have done to it just in parts in the last few months,the car is very reliable and needs nothing right now to drive.just add gas and go.I'm only selling it because i have way to many projects going on and have to clear some room. The bad.the headliner has two small tears ,(cheap repair at interior shop)it does not inhibit the top from working.The emergency brake does not currently work it needs I believe the 2 cables that run it,(easy fix)the trip meter on the dash does not work but the odometer is accurate and works great,the license plate surround is is missing a small piece of plastic on the top.(have seen them here on ebay)the rear side markers have small cranks on them(cheap to replace)and the front grill has one also.(top right,easy fix)all these are minor problems ive noticed with the car,other that that I dont believe theres anything else, Now please take in consideration that this car is 22 plus years old and the way you may see or foresee condition,performance and or any other descriptions may be much or very different than mine.SO PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING AND PLEASE ASK ME ALL QUESTIONS NEEDED FOR YOU TO BE SURE YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE CAR. I only add this because im tired of people who come up with out of this world excuses when they come see or drive the car.So please dont waste my time.If you do not have the money right now to buy the car dont bid, The car has a convertible top cover(black) that comes with it, and spare tire with all original tools in its place,its been well taken care off and has been barely driven the last 10 years of its life,its ready for someone to enjoy it at the beach or get great savings at the pump.
