Vehicle Detail

Hello, Up for auction is a 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix. Originally a white car with red interior, now a red car with white and red interior. The motor is a 1964 389 high compression true 4 speed 389 with a 4 barrel. It has 8 lug wheels, HO manifolds, correct 4 speed with the correct console. I assume (ASSUME) the console and drivetrain are from a 64. I am not positive. The motor runs OK, no smoke out the tail pipes but smokes slightly out of the valve covers. I drove the car down my street and it runs strong and 1st, 2nd and reverse all work great. I never went fast enough to put it in 3rd or 4th. The motor has a slight tick which sounds like a stuck lifter. The brakes are weak but will stop the car enough to get it on a trailer. It has the original 4 barrel intake with a brand new 600 CFM Edelbrock. The car had a brand new clutch installed right before it was wrecked along with brand new mandrel bent dual exhaust and HO manifolds. The car was wrecked in 2008 and has been sitting ever since. The front frame rial is bent slightly (hard to see even if you're looking for it). The motor, firewall, door and pillars were unharmed in the accident. The cowl is torn up and the windshield is cracked. The rest of the glass is nice. The back half of the body is fairly nice. Slight rust around the rear wheel wells but otherwise very straight and solid. The driver side power windows work along with the power seat. The passenger windows do not roll down but I was told they were fixed a few years ago so it might not be a big problem to fix them. The generator bracket was broken in the accident and the shroud and fan are bent up as well. The interior is fairly nice but has the usual seam splits (not too many), cracked dash pad and cracked clear steering wheel. The carpet is fairly new and decent, the door panels are nice and the seats are dirty but nice enough for a driver. The car is a factory AC car (underhood AC components missing), power steering and power brakes. The power brake booster was in the trunk when I got it so it has manual brakes currently. I don't know if the power steering works since I don't have any belts on the car but the steering seems pretty tight without the power assist. The trunk floor has a few pinholes but it solid. The floors are solid as are the frame rails and rockers. The car just needs a paint job bad. I have a lot of extra parts that will go with this car. I've got a bunch of taillights, the AC condenser, a good radiator, some of the underhood AC parts that go on the firewall the trim rings for the 8 lugs, a spare 8 lug wheel etc etc. I also have a nice hood for it, 3 fenders (not very good ones), a nice Catalina grill, half of a GP grill with some extra GP grill parts, 2 good inner fenders and some other parts. They all go with the car Other than the car being put back together I know the brakes will need to be gone through. I think the driver rear wheel cylinder is leaking as there is fluid on the inside of the tire. I've been looking for a 2 door Catalina plain jane bench seat car for a while when I came across this GP. I bought this car with the intention to put it back together and drive it until I find the plain jane Catalina I have been looking for. I haven't had much time to work on this car other than clean it up and get it running again so I need to let it go. If you know of a decent pain jane bench seat cat I might be interested. I highly recommend that anyone interested in the car come look at it before bidding. If you need it shipped you must figure out all the shipping arrangements and pay for shipping. I expect payment in full within 3 days via paypal or cash in hand within 7 days. If this is a problem, please email me ahead of time so we can work it out. Looking for a plain jane 62 Catalina... On May-30-10 at 15:36:40 PDT, seller added the following information:I forgot to add, I do not have the trim that goes at the top of the quarter panel or the rocker trim. I think it looks better without it anyway
