California Original Rust Free Cadillac Coupe DeVille owned by the proverbial lil 'ol lady.....from Fresno!! The plate says it all......this car is a true survivor car. This car is in great shape and will drive anywhere. Bought new in Hanford California in September 1972 for the wife of a local business owner and sold to the second owner in 1976. Owned by the second owner until now. Car was a second car and mileage is relatively low due to the fact that her husband bought the car for her as a gift in '76 and passed away unexpectedly in '79, so the car was only used occasionally since then. Exterior: One repaint in 1990. No dents or dings. Bumpers are clean and shiny. No need to replate them. Front bumper has a small quarter size scratch on the passenger side visible in photos. The white vinyl top NEEDS to be replaced. Typical GM vinyl top from the early 70's, very thin, no padding and wears out quickly. The good thing about that is that style top is cheap to replace with factory type vinyl. Also, since there is no padding from the factory, there is no where for water to be trapped meaning there is NO rust on the roof. No rust on any of the car. Interior: All original and in very useable condition. Driver door armrest is worn, top of driver door panel has minor separation from sun and age. Driver seat has a seam separation on the seat bottom and on the top of the seat back. All visible in pictures. Carpet is in good shape. Headliner is in great shape except for a small tear near the upper seatbelt locator which has been stiched back together. Dash is in excellent shape, no cracks or rips. Package tray is in excellent shape. Glass: All original glass is in excellent condition, no scratches in the door glass or in the quarter glass. Engine: Original, numbers matching 472 CID engine runs great....very strong engine. Only bad thing to say about the engine is that there is an exhaust leak on the passenger side due to a couple of missing exhaust bolts. Transmission: Original TH400 works perfectly and shifts flawlessly and just like Cadillac intended....smooooooth. Suspension: This car rides like a dream. Glides down the road with that Cadillac style! Wheels and tires: Original wheels and hubcaps. Tires were replaced about 100 miles ago and the hubcaps were not reinstalled but are in the trunk. The only things on the car that do not work are the speedometer and cruise control. The speedo stopped working back in 1980 and since the car was not a regular use car the owner never had it fixed. The cruise control does not work because of the speedo and that was not an issue as she did not drive out of town after her husband passed away.
