Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is a stunning original example of a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8. Finished in Healey blue over a navy interior, this car is one of the most original, unmolested late production BJ8s you're likely to find. A two owner car (the second for 30 plus years), the odometer reading of 46k miles is correct - it's always been used sparingly as a weekend driver, was always properly stored and therefore seems like its come out of a time-capsule. With the exception of a newly installed correct carpet kit, everything is original to the car, even the top. As the pictures illustrate, the car's in absolutely gorgeous condition. The paint is in very good shape, free of any significant dings, knicks or scracthes and the chrome is original and very clean, marred only by a single mark in the front bumper. The glass and rubber are solid, the top shows no wear and the car comes with its original full tonneau cover. The seats are in excellent original condition, all of the panels and dash are flawless and the wood dash shows only minor wear. The original numbers matching inline six pulling strongly with solid compression. The car starts easily and idles and shifts smoothly. Whether cruising down the highway or carving through the canyons, this BJ8 is an absolute joy to drive and not a day goes by without compliments from other drivers and pedestrians. As you can see from the pictures, the engine bay is original and untouched and the car has never been in any accidents, with straight lines and gaps. There is no bondo on this car. It is all original metal. The car is completely rust free and always has been, stored in a dry, climate controlled garage when not in use. The considerable efforts of the previous owner are abundantly evident, resulting in an incredible original example that's sure to provide its next owner with the same joy and pride. I want this car to go to a great home, so please feel free to email me or give me a call at (805) 886-1823 if you have any additional questions or would like to make a deal. You can also see other cars I currently have available at www.goodmanreed.com. While I have a California dealer license, I’m not your typical dealer. I’ve always had an appreciation for classic European cars and have always bought and sold them to create a kind of very small revolving personal collection, which, up until this posting, has contained the Healey you’re currently looking at. I try to give accurate descriptions of the cars I’m selling, but I’m not an expert and I encourage and am happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms my ability to make sales with other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however I'd be more than happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction's end. Thanks for your interest.
