Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1979 Ford Fairmont Squire (Woody) wagon. It is in excellent shape, and is certainly the best example of a Woody Fairmont that you're going to find. Mechanically, the car is in excellent shape. It starts, runs, drives, stops and turns like a new one. It doesn't get hot, doesn't smoke, doesn't need exhaust and doesn't leak fluids all over the place. One small quarter sized spot under the crank seal after sitting for a week. The AC even works (it could maybe use a charge, but it does blow cold air). Cruise works. Car has *tilt wheel* I haven't driven it any long distances, and make no guarantees, but from what I've seen, you could drive it 1000 miles home if you wanted to. The front struts do make a little bit of noise, so they probably need replaced soon. The body is likewise excellent. The body is very straight, though it is a 30 year old car so there are a couple of paint scratches and *minor* blemishes. There is no rot on this car anyplace. If I was going to pick it apart, I could point to a couple of spots of very minor surface rust on a couple of the door bottoms. This is minor surface rust (10 minutes with some sandpaper and touch up paint kind of thing). The seams are not bubbling and it appears to perhaps have been formed by condensation or the like. The hatch is immaculate. There are also some minor rock chips on the front of the hood, but they're not rusty and touch-up would certainly take care of it. The wood trim is in really great shape and presents very well. I have never seen a nicer one. The actual woodgrain decals are excellent. The trim has a couple of small spots where the veneer is peeling, but it doesn't look bad at all. The tailgate is slightly faded compared to the rest like the car sat in the garage with the door open on a sunny day. I do have an extra decal sheet of the woodgrain and some trim parts that could potentially go with the car. Interior is pretty much like new. Headliner is great with no sags or tears. the seats don't have rips, tears or cigarette burns. Carpet is in great condition. Dash is not cracked. Glass is in very good shape. The dew wipes and door seals are all like brand new. I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. No peeling chrome, dash lenses are all clear. Owner's manual is in the glove box. Spare tire has never seen the road. As I'm sure you're aware, all of the late model 5.0 Fox Mustang stuff bolts on to these cars, so this has huge potential as a unique sleeper hot rod. It would be a great candidate for this because you don't have to do any body work or restoration. No hunting for hard to find parts, just start making it FAST right away. This car was a one owner until very recently. It was purchased out of the original owner's estate sale by the person who sold it to me. I have a photocopy of the original title, and the actual original window sticker. I have a lot more photographs available online here: Ford Fairmont Gallery Any questions, feel free to ask. If you want to come inspect the car before buying, please email me and we'll set something up. I will work with a buyer to get it loaded on a transport. I will not agree to ship the car out of the country, or any other kind of scammer arrangement, so please don't ask. Also, the car will not leave my possession until I'm 100% satisfied that I have been paid in full.
