Vehicle Detail
Up for Bid is a 2003 Ford E350 Powerstroke Diesel 15 Passenger van. We rolled this van over a month ago going about 45 mph down the interstate. It rolled over once and landed on its wheels still running. All the seats were replaced with new ones about two years ago and are in very good condition. They could use a good cleanup though. The van runs and drives. The rear axle appears to have been bent and will need replaced or fixed. The body is pretty much not repairable, there appears to be some frame damage to the rear passenger frame rail, as it's pushed down. This van has the solid and dependable 7.3l diesel engine which is very rare to find in a passenger van, we got upwards of 20 mpg on the interstate. If a person had the time, you could get a wrecked gas donor van with a good rear body and swap that onto this van for a fairly cheap diesel passenger van. We started taking some parts off of the front and they are in the back of the van. The bumper(except lower plastic piece), grill, headlights, etc all look good. The very rear seat that seats four will not be included in sale. If you have any questions please feel free too ask or call Earl at 319-653-8086. There is alot of good parts on this van or would be a good rebuilder. Thanks for looking. Additional History on the Van We purchased this van about 2 1/2 years ago as a rollover with a salvage title from an insurance auction in Colorado. We wanted a powerstroke passenger van and as they were hard to find we found this one and bought a 02 gas silver van just like it and swapped the whole shell metal part of the body over onto this engine, chassis etc. We bought the van with 129k miles and used it alot for long distance trips etc. The engine and tranny have worked very well and never gave us a problem. We had just replaced both batteries. Oil was changed regularly. The van was tarped over for the first couple weeks but has been in a shed most of the time. The van did get wet in the very back as the carpet is wet. We were thinking of doing the same thing again with this van but have bought a chevy 12 passenger. If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask. This is a true NO RESERVE Auction (Please only bid if you plan on paying and following through with the transaction) BID TO WIN On May-28-10 at 14:17:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on Rear Axle We checked the rear axle out alittle harder and it actually looks too be good. When we had first drove the van, the back wheel seemed to be lightly catching on something, we drove it around the property today and there didn't seem too be any hesitation or the rear wheels catching on anything. Just by looking at it, it actually appears to be straight. Also There was no direct hit too the axle so there is no reason for it too be bent. Thanks
