Vehicle Detail

You’re bidding on a REAL 1968 Ford Ranchero GT, Y-code, 390ci, C-6 Trans, 9” rear-end. Factory disc brakes and factory power steering. It has the original 390, rebuilt with 5,800 miles on it, as a nice performance street engine. Approx 70k miles on the car. It’s high compression, but runs great on pump gas, Edelbrock cam, Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock water pump, MSD distributor, ignition box and coil. Ford Racing valve covers and air cleaner. Full length headers, new 2.5” dual exhaust with H-pipe into Flowmasters, with rear side exit tail pipes. It has a convenient remote mount oil filter, inside the lower part of the grill for easy oil changes. All the hoses, belts, plug wires, radiator, fan, battery, monroe air shocks, etc were new 5,800 miles ago. The original C-6 was rebuilt at the same time. The car has a nice daily driver paint job, not a show paint job, it has minor flaws like most. It’s a heavy metallic, deep royal blue, with silver racing strips and hood pins. The roof has some fading on the silver strips from the sun. It has factory black interior with original bucket seats. The seats, door panels, carpet, sound deadening pad, Ranchero floor mats and headliner are all new. The dash has custom Autometer gauges, and the factory radio slot is still fully intact and not cutout. B&M ratcheting megashifter, All the weather stripping has been redone. It has all the original GT emblems, grill and chrome. The only thing that’s missing is the trim that runs along the bottom edge of the back window. The car also comes with a fitting piece of black carpet for the bed, it’s not shown in the pics so you can see how good of shape the bed floor is in. The car has chrome Crager SS rims, and the tires around about 75% tread left. The car runs and drives great. It doesn’t pull going down the road, the suspension is firm with a nice smooth ride, no vibrations, weird rattles, a very solid and 95% original, completely rust free car. With all that being said, please keep in mind the age of the car. You can drive it anywhere, it never overheats, it always starts right up, etc. Door Tag Info: 8K49Y206531 66D T 8A 15E 71 5 U Normally a 68 Ranchero GT in this kind of shape is worth a lot of money, and is out of reach for a lot of normal car enthusiasts. This car unfortunately has a salvage title. Back around 1984 this car was a theft recovery. Back in those days, none of these cars were worth very much, so insurance companies would salvage them out regardless of damage. I’ve been all around and under this car, and there is nothing wrong with it. No crashes, heavy bondo, no rust anywhere. I’m posting a lot of undercarriage pictures so you can see there is nothing structurally wrong with it. Even the bumper brackets are straight. With all that being said, I’m not trying to sell this car to a collector, but the average guy who wants to own a real GT for the sake of owning and driving one. Chances are this car will go a lot cheaper then what it would take to restore or make one look similar to this one. If you look at my feedback, you’ll see I’ve recently sold two 1965 Mustangs, I believe you can still see the pics and read the ads, and both transactions went smooth with happy buyers. I’ll always do my best to disclose and show anything I know about it. Since the buyer on the silver mustang made the full payment within 48hours, I even rented a trailer and delivered it to him for free. It was a 300 mile trip, and it worked out that I could easily get the day off work. I will try to help out any semi-local buyer, I just can’t make any promises due to my work schedule. Any questions or inspections must be done before the auction ends. Winning bidder must contact us within 48 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00usd NON-refundable deposit is due via Paypal or cashier’s check sent out FedEx overnight within 48 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of Auction end. This auction is legal binding contract to purchase this car, and any/all inspections must be done before the auction ends. Therefore your $500.00usd deposit is not refundable if you back out of the transaction. If no contact is made within 48 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 1995 or with more than 100K miles. Make sure if financing, your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly cooperate, and try to help you out. You can locate shippers by doing a search for `auto shippers` if you’re out of state or too far away. I don’t have problems with international buyers, just please verify any/all duties, taxes, and shipping costs. If you’re overseas, I can deliver the car to the Port of San Diego for shipping. If you are not sure about something, Please ask. Do not assume anything not listed is included. I reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback. I reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to eBay, and negative feedback posted.
