1953 Jaguar: XK120 M (SE) OTS Red exterior, red leather interior, red carpets, red wires wheels, tan cloth top, tonneau, and side curtains. Correct twin fog lamps, original tools, and jack. This is a beautiful, matching-numbers, factory-built M roadster, confirmed by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. Originally sold from the Los Angeles, California distributor to W.O. Murphy of Amarillo, Texas on March 9th, 1953. Beginning in 1951, the Special Equipment (SE) package (called “M” in the U.S.) was made available by Jaguar for competition (primarily by “gentlemen racers”). The SE or M package includes 3/8” lift camshafts, a higher compression ratio of 8:1, a lighter flywheel, special crankshaft damper, up-rated valve springs, stiffer rear springs, torsion bars, a Burgess dual exhaust system, 54 spoke painted wire wheels and twin driving/fog lights. This is an older but well preserved restoration, which was completed by the previous owner in 1988. With only two owners and 14,060 miles since 1988, the car has been a consistent class or show winner in local Jaguar and All-British Car shows. The current owner of ten years has lovingly cared for the car contributing only 4,000 miles to the total. A beautiful automobile, with stunning performance, professionally maintained in a climate controlled carriage house. I am selling this car for a friend who has eleven cars, all British, between his New Jersey and Seattle Washington homes. With an eventual move to one home in Seattle, he is reluctantly thinning the herd. I will attempt to answer all questions and provide additional photos where warranted. On my last two E-bay automobile auctions several of my bidders have experienced scam second change offers after the auctions had closed. Let me make this perfectly clear: I have never and will never contact any bidder with a second chance offer! If you receive one, please notify E-bay at once. I will not reveal my reserve, but I will entertain legitimate offers until the reserve has been met. After that, the car will sell to the highest bidder. A $1,000.00 Deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close with remaining funds due within 7 days. I can only store the vehicle for two weeks after the end of the auction. All transportation costs and arrangements are the buyer’s responsibility. I will accept Cash, Wire Transfer or a Certified Check for both the deposit and the balance. However, I will not release the vehicle until the funds have cleared my bank. I will not accept Pay-Pal for any parts of this transaction.
