I have a 1972 GMC SHORTBED, IT HAS A INLINE 6 CYLINDER ENGINE, 3SPD ON THE COLUMN, I HAVE A FLOOR SHIFT KIT TO GO WITH THIS (I JUST BOUGHT) THIS TRUCK HAS A FRESH BASE COAT OF PAINT ON IT, I AM IN THE PROCESS OF RECOVERING THE SEAT, IT NEEDS A FEW THINGS TO BE RESTORED. THE DRIVERS SIDE CORNER OF THE BED NEEDS MINOR BODY WORK, THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS VERY STRAIGHT. THE ROCKERS BELOW EACH DOOR COULD USE A PATCH. THE CLUTCH MAY NEED A SMALL ADJUSTMENT, When I Drive it THE PEDAL FEELS LIKE IT ENGAGES A LITTLE HIGH. THIS TRUCK IS A EXELLENT CANDIDTATE FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO RESTORE ONE OF THESE CLASSIC SHORTBEDS. I CAN EASILY SEE THIS TRUCK SELLING IN THE 7,000.00 RANGE WITH A LITTLE WORK, I Just did a simple search and I have seen some guys selling the cab by itself for over 1,000.00- the winning Bidder wants parts off of this, I will remove, or dis-assemble this truck and ship the parts (such as) cab,bumpers, running gear, ETC.. for a pre-determined price, if the bidder contacts me in advance. ONLY IF THE SALE PRICE HAS BEEN MET, the auction price will buy this however you want it. I have viewed this truck as an asset of mine since I have owned it. I would never consider letting this truck go at the price I have listed it at, if I did not need the money in such a short notice. I see this as a deal I would NOT pass up, if I had the extra funds to invest. I allowed myself to break one of my own personal rules, I let myself get my cash tied up, and I am in a spot where I need cash fast in a short period of time. If You change the tailgate and grill and the emblems, you can make this a chevy, it may be slightly more than that but not much, that is how identical all of the parts are. the title is clean and will always say GMC unless you changed the cab. I don't know which following is better or why one would be, these trucks are made very well, in America. truck needs 1) door key locks (15.dollars ea.) 2) the seat covered (I have the cover) 3) a muffler, I might have that 4) a dash pad 5) carpet 6) a clutch adjustment (it drives fine) 7) air cleaner cover The truck runs fine (I am a mechanic) It could use a ("Hei distributor to run perfect) the distributor in it is fine, these trucks run great with the electronic ignitions 5-17-10 lowered the asking price to attract bids.
