HappySams store This is my goodtime baby that I can no longer afford to keep. Insurance is way out of my budget, the parts list to get her road ready is even over my head. Meanwhile the evil rust is creeping up on her and I have no sheltered place to battle the corrosion. It's time for eBay! This is a 1969 Dart four door sedan, slant six, with power steering, A/C , AM radio, and seat belts. All parts are intact except for dome light lens and L/R taillight bezel. The speedometer reads 76762 first time around miles, history as far as I know it, the car was a Grandma model that passed into the hands of a local college commuter for one year before I got it at 65k miles. My original goal was to keep it ugly, rustproof it, replace axle and rear suspension with that of a '74 parts car I had, plus the front end with disk brake assemblies. Commuting 6 days to work in it plus paying $2500 a year insurance made all that a real pipe dream... so... What's wrong with the car? A lot. Needs complete braking system, to be fair, everything but the pad on the pedal and the warning light bulb. Lines, drums, cables, master, you name it. The exhaust is gone done to the manifold (which is fine.) Starter is shot, I can't get it started with any amount of pounding. Crank is free, and it ran strong and happy a few years ago (it's been sitting about three years.) Doesn't come with fuel, tank is nearly empty. Sorry. A/C compressor needs rebuild or replace, the system holds a charge however! Transmission is perfect but I noticed some hesitation in reverse on below freezing mornings. Rust is encroaching. It's still stoppable, no structural components are compromised, but she needs to be kept covered, cleaned, and treated real soon. There is already a hole in the rear floor, right side (see photo) that needs to be patched. The dashboard began to hate me at some point... gas gauge never worked (parts in trunk) AM radio gave out.. heater controls took a dive... I think they all sided with the ash tray that became lonely when I quit smoking...by the way, I only smoked a few months after owning the car so it smells like Dart, not cigarettes. Okay. Here's the down and dirty. This baby goes as is, I will not be responsible for any moody incursions experienced by buyer on part of said vehicle... once she's yours, kiss her quick! Worked for me. I can't help you transport the car, that job is up to you. She should tow okay, but flatbed is always best. I know local transporters, but can't offer any discounts for the buyer so it's best you arrange transport yourself. You may bring gas and a starter to fire her up, but the car has no stopping power whatsoever, don't attempt to drive it! At least not until you sign the receipt! The car has only the transferable New York State registration stub. There is no and never was a title in NY for cars built before 1975 so don't fear this. The registration IS the title! I will provide a bill of sale and any signed paperwork you may require. The car is in a safe place, so you can take your time picking it up (within polite reason) and it is at home along with people seven days a week, so pickup can be easily arranged. Payment, in part or whole is welcome as soon as can be, I need new socks, jeans, a haircut, maybe some red meat for the bbq.... There is no reserve, bids start at a buck, so go for it! All questions will be answered, pictures taken and posted if requested, I hope to make a happy and confident sale, thank you!
