Vehicle Detail
The mechanical aspects of this truck are great, Its 460 ci engine runs smooth and strong, NO LEAKS 4 speed with 6 to 1 first gear shifts nicely, 4x4 system works good, central hydraulic system is good and strong, dual tanks pintle hitch electric brake controller BUT, the flywheel ring gear is bad, causing the starter gear to strip, I have purchased a replacement ring gear that is included, but have lost interest in keeping this particular truck and am looking for a truck I can use without a commercial insurance policy.. ive been changing starters every few weeks due to autozones free replacement policy, so it wasn’t that big a deal for me Chassis has surface rust, BUT NO ROT, bed is shot, rusted to sh*t, and the cab has rust and rot in the usual places, cab corners and floors are bad, still holding, but if you raise the OEM rubber floor mat, you can see the road as your driving.. freaky, but anyway, the central hydraulics raise the bed, but I wont dare raise it past a few feet due to the rot, bed seems like its going to rip in pieces and topple over, tailgate was replaced when I got the truck and is good and solid!! the plow system works flawlessly, doesn’t leak anything and holds pressure, holds the blade off the ground indefinatly!! Heat system works awesome!! Windows and doors work, but lost the door key, but ive never locked the truck anyway, recent battery, and tires are at 75% and better!! THIS IS THE ACTUAL MILEAGE ON THE TRUCK, 69620, HAS NOT ROLLED OVER TO 169K Im 100% confident this truck will drive cross country if need be, ive taken it from NY to VT several times during the snow season to plow my vacation home up there, as long as you keep in mind the ring gear issue and leave the truck running till you get there, as I do This is a 1986 truck, and LOOKS it!! Don’t expect a new truck, this truck has dings, dents, rust, rot, everything showing it’s a used plow truck, but like I mentioned, the drivetrain is super!! And hasn’t let me down yet PLEASE PAY AND PICKUP THE TRUCK IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME, ILL WORK WITH YOU, BUT MY GOAL IS WITHIN A WEEKOn May-08-10 at 06:22:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry All.. forgot some details that were asked thru email... PLOW: its a Western 8 footer, no rot but does have surface rust as expected, wear blade is good, as are its shoes, never had a problem, doesnt leak and like i mentioned, holds pressure indefinatly SMOG EQUIPMENT & INSPECTION: Yes, its still connected and functioning, had a NYS inspection when i bought it but has since developed an exhaust leak, so i doubt it would pass this year until thats fixed EXHAUST: is leaking, and the exhaust flange gasket IS INCLUDED, i already bought it and its been in the truck for months waiting to be installed, exhaust terminates in front of the rear wheels, NO TAIL PIPE SUSPENSION: Shocks and Springs are good, rides like a F350, it isnt a cadillac, Springs are good, minimal front end drop when you raise the plow blade, ide say about an inch or so, havent really checked, the shocks are NOT blown or leaking, and hold the truck well after bumps CENTRAL HYDRAULICS: PTO driven off the trans, NOT engine driven electric clutch type, NO LEAKS and maintains pressure ( holds the bed up)
