Vehicle Detail
1965 AMC Rambler Ambassador 990 Convertible. Here is a very rare California, original black plate, 100% solid, 'survivor' Rambler. This car has its stock original AMC 327 cu.in. V8, with automatic transmission. Finding one of these cars in this original condition is like the proverbial 'needle in the haystack'. This car was sold new in California and has its original owners manual, accessory manual, protect-o-plate, and the window delivery sticker from the day the car was sold new and driven off the lot. It also comes with a 1965 Ambassador shop manual. The paint on the car looks original. The interior also looks original with the exception of the carpet. The top is replaced and like new, the car does have the original boot cover for the top. The trunk is clean and even has a sticker from 1970 from Pennys when the owner purchased their first set of tires. Under the hood everything looks good, it has had some service parts replaced e.g. spark plugs, plug wires, dist. cap, rotor, points, and the brake booster/master cylinder. The car starts easily and does not smoke. The alternator and regulator also look to gave been recently replaced. The brakes are power assisted drums and it stops very well. The tires are new and the stock hubcaps look nice with three spoke spinners. The speedo/odo still work, so does the temperature and gas gauge. The car still has its factory radio, but it does not work. The heater and wipers do not work. Being an unrestored original car it has the normal wear that you would expect, the body is very nice but does have small chips and some larger parking lot dents (passenger side mostly). Some of the paint on the rear of the car has faded/been buffed down. The glass is all original and in good shape. The crome and trim has held up well, the car seems to have been garage kept (missing passenger side mirror). We are selling this car for a friend of a friend and the car had been parked in his garage for a long time. I have driven the car up and down the street, but that's all. Being an old car that has not been driven for a long time, I recommend trailoring it home and road testing it fully before driving it regularly. The power top does work, just needs a little help when it's begining to go up. This is an unrestored car and a find, with a little TLC it would be a car you could enjoy for a long time. If you have any pertinent questions just contact me through eBay. The car is sold as-is and as equipped. However, you are welcome to come see and/or inspect the car before the end of the sale. Payment is due within seven days of the end of the auction. The mileage seems to be actual, but any car over 10 years old in CA is sold miles 'exempt'. California buyers are responsible for state sales tax and fees. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. NOTE: due to 'multiple' problems with low/negative or zero feedback bidders, we only accept bids from such bidders after they have contacted us first. Your bid is binding, not and opportunity to hold the car untill you decide if you really want it!
