Vehicle Detail
I just put all the fluids in and tuned it up. It's ready to be broke in in and run hard. I've completely gone over this bike top to bottom. I replaced any hardware with new or the best used stuff I had from two other RMX builds. Right now I have a 1994, 1995 and 1996. This one, the 1994 I bought a few years ago as my "buddy" bike. My younger brother rode it a few times last couple of years. Last year when we got it ready for the season it was making some noise on the top end. So, I had the top and bottom ends redone. The cylinder got sand blasted and the sleeve re-nicklsil'd to standard bore. New Namura Tech piston with Teflon coating, new rod and low end bearings, seals, gaskets, etc. Boyesen carbon fiber reeds and a Moose torque spacer. FMF pipe and spark arrestor. Carb is correctly jetted to the FMF pipe using FMF spec sheet. Once the motor is broke in, it's gonna rip! Since the motor was rebuilt, I've only started it, tuned it, idled it for awhile, then rode super easy around my yard. I'll start it and idle it some more as time goes on, as long as I still have it. The suspension hasn't been rebuilt in a few years, but nothing is leaking and it's working great. It was pro-tuned front and back at Tech Care in Michigan, which should still have the service records. Tires and suspension is setup really well for sandy trails, which is every trail in Michigan. Tires are good with about 80% tread. Chain and sprockets are good. New air filter, near new plastics, new wheel bearings on the front and back. The only thing it needs is a serious trail rider in the seat! I have a headlight and rear fender with tail light for it but they are not mounted currently. They’re used and not as nice as the plastic on it. One of the headlight wires was cut before I got it. The connector is still there so it looks like an easy fix if you want to throw the lights back on. I don't mess around with bikes, I build them to be ridden hard. This isn't a hobbled together bike I'm trying to unload on someone. I wish I could keep it, it's pretty much a new bike, or at least a slightly used one with a fresh motor. The bike also has a Michigan title. These bikes can be licenced for road use in some states. A buddy of mine just got his 1996 RMX250 on the road here in Michigan! I can help facilitate international shipping by breaking the bike down and boxing it up or have it ready for pickup whole and placed on the shippers pallet. Buyer must arrange shipping or pay $200 additional for me to arrange.
