Here we go, the quarterly Opel Gt sale for all of the avid readers on the forum and here on Ebay! This car took us longer to get "repaired" as we have had a lot of cars in the shop the past 2 months and the opel just didnt get priority in the shop and so we did some extras here and there. It is a must see. The paint is a intense blue pearl metallic. Pictures just dont do it justice... amazing color! The car was an Indiana Opel Gt that was traded to us. It ran and drove, but had no interior, and just was a run of the mill car. The rust on it was average, though the rocker panels were still solid and the floor boards solid. The speedo did not work, and we didnt have one handy to put in it that knew was good at the time of the auction. It had a little rust in the rear fender wells which we cut out with plasma and welded new ones it. The headlights work great, roll nicely, the lights and lenses most are new from Opel Gt Source, thanks Glenn. As our other GT's, the glass is all removed and new rubber installed. We used the rubber without the molding strip and think it looks better. The windshield is in decent shape, no cracks of course (just being installed), but it has a little wiper rash on the drivers side. It is better than some of the others we have had, and doesn't warrant replacing or we would have already. Car runs and drives great! Factory 1.9 liter engine, stock cam, and runs great. We did not overhaul the engine, however compressions were 155-158-155-160. No smoke, starts easy, runs great. We also deleted the rear trim bead around the tail of the car. It had numerous slight dents and had been reworked previously. We removed it and rolled the tail. Looks great. Its 50/50 preferance on that, but it also solves water leakage problems not being there too. Looks great. Now for our avid readers, the good the bad and best lists here below. New drag Wheels and tires - less than 5 miles New Brembo front brakes - less than 5 miles NO RUST and all rust was professionally removed and new metal installed. All new rubber trim, door seals, engine bay seals, etc Rebuilt Weber 32/36 Carb WITH ORIGINAL snorkel breather for better air cooling Polished valve cover Repainted engine block New plugs, wires, points, cap, rotor New oil and filter New carpet set new paint (pictures dont do it justice!!! Awesome color looks great!! New exhaust with factory rear muffler New headliner new seats from opel gt source New tail lights, lenses, etc New factory decal set New style opel GT rear emblem... just to make a certain group laugh or point it out... door panels recovered and custom to some aspect. They have carpet bottom, we just trying new things here. Looks great. Runs and drives great, bearings all smooth, shifts well, nice car. Windshield wipers were still off in the picture, but on the car now. Factory opel am radio in the dash Heater controls free and working New battery. The picks- specifically for our group No door pockets on the door panels. Radio is not hooked up and I dont think there is a rear speaker in place. Door panels do not have armrests installed. (may have a set) Wiper rash in the windshield . slight and wont show in a picture Slight oxidation on chrome rear bumbers Slight oxidation on door handles. Chrome trim around drivers window in less than average condition Slight oxidation on factory keyed gas cap Nose emblem is not on the car. will be prior to leaving. Steering wheel I am sure has cracks in wood, we did not unwrap it. No key to gas cap (yes, of course it is unlocked) missing original cigarette lighter (the part that plugs into the dash) The car is a very nice car that has been very nicely fixed up. We have done a lot of Opel Gt's and are very good with them. We stock lots of opel parts and can help you way into the future as you need help. This car is a strong 8 of 10 and would be a great car for many years to come we believe. It is a true must be seen. So, we are going to run a 10 day auction to allow lots of time for everyone to come see it, bring a mechanic if you like, see the shop, drive it and make 100% sure its the opel for you. We have a lift on our shop that you can use, and are happy to assist in any way that we can. We can help ship the car anywhere in the world, drive it to you within reason for a small fee, or enclosed trailer it for a fee. Any and all shipping is at 100% buyers expense and we do not care who picks it up. We prefer the buyer fly in and drive it home, but can accomodate most anything you need. Please come see it, review it, inspect it... this process is for us too, that way if there is something we have missed we can post it online for everyone to see. On May-05-10 at 07:13:52 PDT, seller added the following information: A few noteworthy picks on the car I wanted to bring out. The Emergency brake handle the leather wrap around it has a split in it. Not expensive, just hadnt noticed The headliner is new but the job could have been better. It has a couple small wrinkles in it, we will try and work out before the auction ends It is missing the small bumperettes in the front on the bumper. Looks fine without them, and we hadnt noticed until it was pointed out. The steering wheel is wrapped with a leather or leather like wheel wrap. We did not unwrap it, but for sake of arguement lets assume the wheel has cracks in it. never had one yet that didnt. I think this covers the updates. These things are all minor and maybe didnt warrant bringing to light, but we want to make sure you know exactly what you are getting and it is a super nice car. thanks.
