Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a 1993 Honda Goldwing Aspencade with only 34,0xx miles. Up front I will tell you, that I purchased the bike a couple of years ago with a Salvage Title, but paid the bond & had it completely inspected by the State Motor Vehicle Inspector to get a clear title. I have included a picture for you to see what it looked like when I first purchased it (the yellow banana picture). As you can see, I have changed the color to metallic charcoal to get away from the gaudy yellow. I have had countless positive comments when I tell the admirers that I "rattle-canned" it (paint out of a can). What really made it look decent, was the $26 per can (x3) of clearcoat I used to give the paint a sheen. Granted...it doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to deduce it used to be yellow. There are a couple of small areas where yellow can be noticed...but tooling down the road, or just sitting in the driveway, no one would ever know. I have pry put close to $1000 into it with paint, parts, accessories, and repairs, to bring it up to what I would call - decent shape. A new brake master cylinder was installed (by Honda shop), and I purchased used radiators, had them boiled & pressure tested, then installed them to assure a cool-running bike. I religiously changed the oil every 3000 miles, and can tell you - it does not use oil. The cruise control works, the radio works (loses presets when key is shut off), and the reverse works - yes reverse! It can easily haul my 230lbs and the bike up an incline w/o effort. I have tucked away the intercom connections since I have no use for them. I can only assume that they are functional. The CB radio receives transmissions, but no mic was supplied with my original purchase. You may note in the pictures that I have added amber LED turnsignals to the front & rear of the bike. These make the cycle much more visible to unattentive motorists, and are much brighter than the factory lights. The tires have decent tread (see pictures). A new battery was just installed a few weeks ago. I do not want to mislead you into thinking this bike is perfect. The air ride suspension compressor works when 12v is supplied, but the push buttons to set the ride do not work. I have narrowed it down to a relay, but have never needed to use it riding alone. The fuel gauge says full all of the time / the gauge cluster cover is cracked/ and the self-cancelling turn signal function is inop (turn signals work though). There is a rattle from the front fairing area when you navigate over bumps / railroad tracks, but with the tunes cranked, you don't even notice it. Overall...it is a decent riding and looking bike. I would not be getting rid of it if I hadn't taken a lower paying job, and need the money. I have set a reserve price much lower than what it should be. I have been watching e-Bay listings, and know it is worth much more than the reserve. The winning bidder needs to make a $500 PayPal deposit within 48 hours after the listing close. They must then pick up their new cycle by May 15th, 2010 / 9:00pm CST. Only cash will be accepted for this transaction. NO refunds / All sales Final.
