Own one of the most beautiful cars ever built in the perfect color combo. Well maintained 1997 XK8 in British racing green with biscuit tan interior. This car is my daily driver and runs beautifully. I own a few of the 1960's e-types and the XK8 is the embodiment of that classic design with all of the pleasures of modern conveniences. This car has the all-season package with seat warmers, and head-light sprayers. On the positive side, I have been proactive on all maintenance, so the timing chain and tensioners were replaced as well as the water pump between 70 and 80K. The replacement was with the upgraded Jaguar parts which used metal instead of plastic on the key components. These are the two known weak spots on the XK8s built between '97 and '00 and would lead to catastrophic engine failure if not attended to early. Many of these cars are for sale with around 70-80K on them so they don't have to sink the $3K into this upgrade or have blown engines from having not done the upgrade. Other maintenance includes recent replacement of the front hubs and brakes along with cooling and trans flush and the engine. Since I have owned the card, I have only used synthetic oil replaced every 3K miles. Now for the small items that were not high priority and I kept planning on getting around to. The front fog light lenses are broken but they still work and were broken when I bought the car. The rear speakers have some fuzz with bass. The hydraulic fluid in the convertible top could do with a change as it makes some sound when opening and closing but it works. The convertible top stitching is showing some signs of wear, but has no leaks, tears and the seams are still tight.
