This is a 1957 Willys Jeep cj5 I recently found in a brush pile on a friends property. The jeep has no title! It has been parked on the property by the original owners son since the mid 90s. I purchased the jeep and here it is. I dont know much about it but ill do my best to describe. This jeep has a 4cyl motor which is not seized.Upon my initial inspection i checked the oil for signs of water.Oil looked good,I didnt see any water signs. when the jeep was parked the water pump had been removed. They explained it was to prevent the block from freeze damage. Doesnt make much since to me,but that is what they did. I was able to reinstall it as all bolts and the pump were still there. I grabbed a 6 volt battery off a floor scrubber i have and tried to get it running. I hooked the battery to it and installed a new key assembly and was able to get the starter to turn the engine over. The truck would not fire off. i pulled the plugs and wires individually and had no spark. I think it would run if the coil or points were gone through by someone smarter than me. also would need a fuel tank ,filter and maybe some new lines. Basically i would not trust the fuel delivery system. That is about all i have done to it. I have yet to even clean it out. The body is in poor shape in my opinion. It seems the years of hanging in the bushs have taken there toll. Lots of rust from the dash back. The seat frames seem to be all there. the truck is as it sits. just looking to get what i can out of it. I think it would make someone a parts truck or get it going and have fun dont really know.
