Vehicle Detail
This is a 2002 Ford Escape it needs a new engine as it is currently not driveable but otherwise if you swap out the engine in good condition. See pictures the private party KBB value of the car with a working engine and in good condition. KBB is telling me that it is worth about 4800 in Fair condition so I am dropping to 2000 since it needs a new engine. BTW I will even provide you with the name and number of a mechanic that quoted me 1700 parts and labour and the job will take him 10 days to complete. As far as I can see this vehicle needs a new engine. It had a strange ticking sound and I stupidly did not get it looked at until it was too late. I am moving next week so hence I don't have time to get it swapped out myself so will let it go to whoever wants to do the engine swap. 2000 plus 1700 for the engine swap you are still getting a pretty sweet deal. And the mechanic I talked to said the engine he will put in has fewer miles by alot (around 80,000 miles). I would recommend an engine overhaul too that would mean whatever engine he puts in will be almost new. Which means closer to like 20,000 or 30,000 miles of wear instead. It all depends on the work that you have done to this car. Have a look at the pictures. Give me a call. 614-937-3116. You can stop by and look at it and kick the tires if you want. Oh and I stupidly did a complete brake job (front brakes) one day before the engine seized. So brand new rotors and disc pads in the front. The car has a clean title if you don't cound that it needs a new engine. Anyway this car is perfect for the high school or college student that needs a cheap car and willing to put a little TLC into it to get it running again. Also perfect for the mechanic that is looking to do the engine swap and sell for a profit. I figured if you put a new engine in you can easily get the KBB private party good condition price after you do the engine swap maybe more if you are a dealer. I am listing it nationally but obviously with it needing a new engine probably means you will not want to have the car shipped. If you show up in person to look at the car and you make me an offer in person and we agree (well I will probably agree to your offer) then the car is yours right then and there. I leave shipping the car up to you to figure out. It is in a free parking area now in my apartment complex so if you need a few days to make arrangements that is not a problem. I am moving on May 6th so I would like to make a deal before that. Also note that I am going to attempt to sell it by other means. So if it sells before the 7 days are up on Ebay then please note that I cannot sell it twice. So if you are interested please don't wait stop by to have a look at it. I will email you whatever additional pictures you want to see. Also note that by the end of the day today (4/30/2010) I will add one more picture to the ad. I forgot to take a picture under the hood sorry about that. It is coming soon. Oh and one more thing I plan to take the tow bar off the car and keep that for my next vehicle. It is reasonable since I am selling it for next to nothing anyway I might as well save this money off my next car. So please pretend you don't see that in the pictures. The good news is if you decide to install one you don't need to rewire the lights for a trailer you will get that for free so all you will need is a new tow bar.
