1978 Alpha Romeo Spider project car. The clutch arm broke on this car 25 years ago, and it has been stored in a garage ever since. My cousin bought it to refurbish but passed away before he could get started. First, the good news: There is a replacement clutch arm, and three manuals for Alpha Spiders. If has a pretty good body with the normal dents and scratches you might find on a 32 year old car. All the gauges are intact as are the stock wheels. All hard parts are there. The car ran when parked. It has an aftermarket Ferris padded hard top, as well as the original soft top. The interior door panels are in good shape as is the dash. The glass is all intact with no cracks. There is a car cover included. Now the challenges: The spare tire well is rusted through. We have sourced a replacement well for $250, which would have to be welded in place. The hoses and vacuum lines have been removed from the motor, as well as the battery. The spark plugs have been removed and Marvel Mystery Oil shot into the cylinders. The seats have rips, and the carpeting has been removed. Prognosis: It depends on what you are looking for. If you want to restore to a concourse vehicle, this is a good candidate. If you want a car you can jump into and drive, this is not the car for you. On the other hand if you are mechanically inclined, you could have a daily runner without too much investment or effort. This car needs a new home and is listed with no reserve.
