Page Click Image To Enlarge Description Brief history: This is a one owner car. With an October 1981 build date. It was properly maintained since day 1 and has had the majority of the common issues with Deloreans worked out (i.e. power windows motors, faded bumpers, fuel pump, door handles, etc). I will attempt to describe as accurately as possible and I have also included a lot of pics to back everything up. The Body and Frame The body is in great condition. The steel looks very good and still shines very nicely. There are a few minor dings in the body, but nothing terrible. The bumpers were recently repainted using the correct Delorean paint codes. The doors sit up with out any issue as the struts were replaced recently using parts purchased from Special-T Auto. The door handles were replaced with the new plastic units from Special-T Auto. The frame of the car is rust free and in very good condition. The underneath of the car is in very good condition and looks well kept. I will tell you this, the frame is very straight and free of rust. It is straight and without any issue under there. RUST FREE! The doors go up and down without an issue and are lined up. Interior: The seats are original and in VERY good condition. The carpeting is in fine condition as well. No major stains or tears. The clock works, as does the radio. The cargo net located behind the seats is present and in good condition. The only real issue with the interior is the dash is cracked (see pictures). I bought a dash cover for the car and it covers it up. The power window motors have been replaced with the updated units from Special-T Auto and the power window switches were just rebuilt, as well. The AC and Heat work. There is also a period correct Radar detector installed along with the bumper mounted radar detecting unit. Its so 80's-cool that I did not have the heart to remove it. Motor and Running Gear: The 2.8 Liter PRV V6 is in fine condition. It runs very smoothly and idles right under 1000 RPM's. The motor was given a tune up about a month ago with an oil change, new spark plugs, wires and the coolant flushed. The fuel filter and pump were replaced with units from Special-T Auto and the car runs brilliantly for it. The brake pads were replaced as well, with units purchased from Special-T Auto. The battery is new. The car starts up every time and does not smoke or make any odd noises. Its a blast to drive and can't help but gather attention wherever it goes. The transmission goes in and out of gear smoothly with all 5 gears and synchros working without any issue. The brake rotors and pads were replaced as well as the slave and master cylinders. The clutch grabs and there is zero slip. I recently completed a 180 mile road trip in the car and had no issues other than a lot of "where's the flux capacitor?" jokes.. The car would be a great weekend driver. In its current condition, its a definite show worthy car that can be driven and enjoyed as any car should. Items recently replaced: New Battery New Door Handles from Special T Auto New power window motors from Special T Auto Rebuilt power window switches from Special T Auto Bumpers Repainted using correct Delorean paint codes Replaced door struts from Special T Auto Replaced louvers and engine cover with newer units New fuel filter, fuel pump and fuel lines Special T Auto Tune up: Oil change, coolant flush, spark plugs New brake pads New Slave and Master Brake Cylinders TIres have around 1500 miles on them and are great shape To sum it up, this is a fantastic example of a Delorean. It looks great, runs great and drives and great. The mild-restoration it under went has definitely breathed new life in to this car.
