This truck is one of the rare S-10 that had a diesel. The 2.2 engine idles even and the transmission works good. The engine heater works good or you can put starting fluid to start the engine when it is cold. The glow plugs are not hooked up. It costed around $90 to fix the starter but it works good now. The metal and brake lines have mostly been replaced as well as the wheel cylinders. The tires on front are new like goodyear tires and the rear tires are usuable but are wore. The truck is rough and beat up but it would be road worthy for a trip but the steering has a lot of play in it. Outside of that, I wouldn't be afraid to drive it where you live. It's driveable but I wouldn't recommend it. Fix the steering and the truck would be a good work truck or would be good for parts to fix a diesel or to convert a gas truck. It has power steering also.
