Vehicle Detail
This is a 1958 Austin Healey 100-6 roadster that has a 289 Ford engine. The car was rescued from a driveway after being abandoned for over 12 years. I do not know the condition of the engine; however, it is believed to be an authentic 289, having a holly carburetor and header. The engine looks to be complete with the exception of the valve covers that have recently been removed. The distributor and generator are present and so is the Ford automatic transmission. I was told be a local mustag guy that the drive train is from a mustang. If you notice, the front wheels are orginal wires; however, the rear wheels are 5 bolt steel wheels. I do not know anything about the rear end. The original wiring was removed and replaced with some homemade wiring and is not functional. The interior car is intact, with the exception of the dashboard where additional holes were drilled for a series of sw guages. There is not speedometer or tachometer in the dash. The seats are vinyl and not too bad..having no rips or tears and certainly can be used for a driver. The rear seats are also decent as well as the rear panel. The car is also equipped with a roll bar that in vinyl covered and looks in excellent condition. I do not know the condition of the frame; however, as you can see in the pictures the body isn't too bad. The front right fender, the right rear fender, and left rear fender are in good shape..the left front needs repaired at the bottom. The doors are complete and are definitely repairable, showing little rust on the outside. They close tightly and both have good lines. The cockpit surround is also intact. The windshield frame is ok as well. The bonnet is pretty much trash with rust and a hood scoop. The rear trunk lid is repairable..the front cowl had a cobra looking front installed over the original. It looks like with time and patience it could be removed to expose the original front end. The master cylinder is in the car and so is the original heater/blower. The convertible top bow is also available with the car..the convertible top is trash. I do have a hardtop that is on a separate auction. I reserve the right to end the auction early as we've had alot of interest in this car locally. The car will need to be trailers as all four tires have dry rotted off the rims, so if you are planning on towing it- you'll need to bring two wire wheels for the front and two five bolt steel wheels for the rear. I will be happy to answer any questions, if you call my cell (814) 931-0627. We do not sell outside the US or to those who have no history, so please do not bid. Paypal accepted.
