I bought this car with the intention of fixing a couple problems and using it as a daily driver. This car isn't perfect... the transmission slips and sometimes doesn't get out of first gear. The car is drivable in its current state but I wouldn't recommend for any long distance. It could be a simple fix requiring nothing more than a transmission flush, or I was told it could be a solenoid. I am not a mechanic and I don't have a good place to work on it any longer. The brakes work but there seems to be an issue with ABS and it engages when its wet out. The front right fender has a dent in it by the door and makes the passenger side door make a cracking noise when opened. The interior lights on the dash board don't come on when the headlights are turned on. All the electrical components seem to work just fine other than that. The radio has been removed from the vehicle, however all the wiring and speakers are still intact. All the windows roll up and down. Also the front windshield has a crack in it, nothing major but its there. The civic has the usual rust forming around the rear wheel wells. This car would be great for someone who wants a fun project or just put some work into and make a daily driver. Could be a fantastic for a kid to learn how to tool on. Great on gas. This is the EX model so it does have the 1.6L Engine SOHC VTEC. Could be a candidate for a 5-speed swap, or maybe buy it whole and part it out. The engine does run extremely well. There is a small leak on the valve cover but it is an easy fix. Tires have a good amount of tread left on them. As I have already stated I am not a mechanic, but I would strongly recommend towing the vehicle upon purchase to protect your safety. The car is only 3 blocks from a U-Haul and they rent tow dollies.
