Vehicle Detail

This is a very late production ’65. I don’t have all the information to decode it but the serial number is within the last few cars built! I've had this car for about 12 years. I'm unsure of the mileage originality. It runs and drives perfectly. The Air Conditioning is fully intact and worked a few months ago but doesn’t right now. This car is a very nice driver. It wins local cruise in shows and draws plenty of attention everywhere it goes but it isn't show car. The paint and general restoration were done before I bought it and I assume that work is about 12 years old as it was fresh at that time. If you have any questions as to originality, codes, details, etc. I will provide any additional information, answers or whatever I can. The car is available for inspection anytime. Questions and clarifications can be made via message here or you can call John at 972-814-8034 or Bill at 513-484-6314. Features and Options Include: L79 - 327 / 350 HP motor Disc Brakes Power Windows Power Steering Power Brakes Wooden Steering Wheel Posi Traction Rear Axle - 3:55 ratio Air Conditioning Side Exhaust Knock Off Wheels AM/FM Radio Power Antenna Tinted Glass Recent repairs made are: All new calipers and pads, new front rotors, new power steering return hose, repair and adjust the power steering centering valve on the assist cylinder, the power antenna was fixed, oil and filter were changed, fuel system was flushed, carburetor was rebuilt, fuel added with stabilizer and also some leaded race gas, new air filter (correct foam type for 350 hp), new battery cables, the rear spring support / differential cover was replaced along with the attaching link bushings, etc. All these repairs can be seen in the pics. The spare tire cover was removed for photo clarity and is now back on the car but there was no spare tire or wheel so none is included. I couldn't figure out how to add more than 24 photos here. There are many more to see so click on the following link if you're interested: http://s853.photobucket.com/albums/ab91/EBCarMan/65%20Corvette/ I’ve had a lot of questions about this car from corvette collectors and the following is specific information for the car that I’ve accumulated: I'm not in any Corvette clubs and haven't taken it to any NCRS events or whatever. It hasn't been judged, verified or documented at all other than my personal inspection and a few local general car shows. I'm an avid private multi make car collector but I'm not a vette expert so the information I provide you should be researched and verified to your satisfaction. If you have questions, pose them before bidding. I have no knowledge of prior ownership, originating dealer etc. I do not have a protect-o-plate either. The Trim Tag says Style 65 437 L30, Body S4080, Paint 900 F-F and Trim 450 A-A. So, this is a St Louis Coupe, Nassau Blue with a White Vinyl interior. I assume it could have had blue carpeting and dash pads but it doesn't. The dash pads are old so I assume they are original and weren't replaced when the carpeting was and both of those items are black. The carpet is fine so I assume it's been replaced. Body build date L30 - July 1965. The serial number and build date of this car make it one of the very last cars to be built in ’65. The transmission has S123545 PO7026 stamped on it and also a tag that reads 35758. The rear end is stamped AN7 23 651 which I decode as a 3:55 posi. The intake casting number is 3844467, correct for the car. The carb number is 3849804 / List2818-1 / 2446 correct for the car. There is a removable cover in the drivers side front wheel well to facilitate removal of the battery behind it, this is specific to A/C cars. The engine block casting number is 3782870, the date code on the block is F265 (June 26, 1965), stamping numbers S123545 F0708HU (327, 350HP, M/T with Air). The Harrison overflow tank has a 65M date on it which seems appropriate. The Alternator is stamped: 1100843 61 AMP M13 (Date). The Glass codes are as follows: Left Wing: CC (June '65); Right Wing: CC (Nov '63); Left Window: IJ (Jan '65); Right Window: NJ (Jan '65); Back Window: JJ (May '65). The Windshield ihas been replaced and is not correct. The knockoffs are early model Western repros so not original Chevrolet items. The side pipes appear to be Chevrolet items but probably not original to the car. They have a few dings near the front tires and appear to have been on the car for some time. The hood appears to have a white stain on the pic which is a reflection from the air cleaner lid so be assured the hood is satin black inside without the white mark in the pic. The frame is correct and original - serial number S123545. I couldn't find any appreciable rust anywhere on the frame and the typical problem areas near the rear trailing arms is solid. There is some kind of thin undercoating on most of the frame. The paint and bodywork is old but servicable. It wasn't a concours quality effort, some panels don't align perfectly and so on. There are some minor imperfections and cracks in the paint but nothing unusual. The engine seems to be in great shape, starts easily, runs fine and so on. I assume it was rebuilt shortly before I got it and the car hasn't had more than a few thousand miles on it since then. This car is a great driver. Take it, drive it and have fun all year as is. It's very presentable and will bring you home from the local cruise ins with trophies and plenty of enjoyment. It draws a ton of attention from the color combination and so on. For someone that's in it for a collection, it's a virtual matching number drivetrain, 4 speed, Air Conditioned car with a unique color combination. That will make it go up in market value faster and also make it easier to sell if you choose so. If you want the concours restored unit, this is one that has all the stuff, look for nothing, just do the restoration to your standards with no regrets. Any International buyers are welcome but you will have to arrange for transport and so on yourself. I've not sold cars abroad but will help as I can. All funds for final payment must be clear and fully available in my bank within that time. Vehicle will be made available for pick up after funds are clear. On May-01-10 at 14:06:46 PDT, seller added the following information: The following are answers to questions I've had about this car: 1) I don't know if this is the correct steering wheel, the rim seems thicker than most of the ones I've seen so I'd bet it is not the original one. I don't have any other one or spare. 2) I do have the lead mallet for the knockoff wheels. 3) It does leak some fluids. There is a power steering leak, likely the cylinder or something close to it. The rear end pinion seal leaks. 4) The car is located in a suburb on the North side of Fort Worth, Texas and is available for inspection anytime with several hours notice. Call John at 972-814-8034 to schedule. 5) The rear body has had fiberglass work and the original valance panel where the exhaust exits were has been filled in. 6) The title is clear and registered in Texas.
