Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a stunning example of the last and some may say the most desirable year 1976 BMW 2002. The 2002 is the car that put BMW on the map here in the United States. I am the third owner of this this wonderful BMW 2002 that has spent her entire life in sunny California. We are offering our super clean 1976 2002 for the first time simply because we seldom drive her hopping the winning bidder will take the same pride in her that we have taken ourselves. In addition to the pictures listed on our auction we have dozens more of detailed items on the car upon request. If you have any questions about anything please do not hesitate to ask, just allow me 24 hours to get back to you. Our garage kept 1976 BMW 2002 is very original. We believe the only two items on our head turning 1976 2002 are the updated "bottle Cap style wheels" wrapped in 4 new tires put on just short of two years ago. The tires have less than 1000 miles on them. Please take a look at the center wheel caps on all four alloys as well and you will notice that the BMW emblems are in non faded perfect original condition. The alloys are also in stunning original condition with only very minor scuffs at the very edge of the alloys. The alloys are in there original finish and have not been painted, they are in simply terrific condition. The other item that is not stock is the stereo. The stereo is a Sony and we upgraded the speakers about two years ago. The suspension on our garaged kept 1976 BMW is tight. The struts and springs still feel good however the next owner may want to install some new shocks out back and she would be perfect. The steering is tight and free of play as it should be on this wonderful BMW 2002. Our wonderful BMW drives down the road straight and does not pull to either side. The brakes also work as the should and she will stop on a dime. The color of our 1976 California BMW 2002 is Sahara Beige with Parchment Leatheret interior. The front and rear seat material is in excellent condition. Please take a look at the pictures of the seats in our 1976 2002. All seats have absolutely no sun damage, stains, tears, scuffs or cracks in them. They are soft and supple and all the padding underneath is in excellent supportive condition. The headliner is in very good condition with no tears, stains or discoloration of any kind. The sun Visors are all in tact with no tears however they are starting to feel old and should be re stuffed or replaced in the future. The right front passenger seat sometime has difficulty reclining although everything else works as it should. The inside portion of the drivers seat is missing a lower end cap but not really noticable. The carpets are all original and free of tears or holes. The dash has some minor small cracks and when we have gone to auto events many people have often mentioned how clean the entire dash is let alone the rest of the interior and exterior. The center console is superb with nothing missing. Several years ago our car won the clean car category for it's class at a BMWCCA event. The weather stripping is in very good condition overall however the next owner may elect to replace the rubber stripping in the door wells however overall like the rest of the interior in our 1976, truly exceptional. The sheet metal on our exceptional 1976 BMW 2002 is breath taking. She is simply free of dings, scratches, dents or rust! The paint finish is simply amazing. Please look at the pictures, the reflection from the paint is stunning and you cannot help but notice every object in her reflection. The body of our wonderful BMW 2002 is straight and free of any waves as she was when she rolled off the assembly line in Germany. The wrap around aluminum trim is stunning as well and also glimmers in the sun. The bumpers are also stunning and have been polished to a mirror finish. Please check out the condition of the badges because they too are simply exceptional. Many 2002's seem to have a big problem with rust! Our beloved Beamer 2002 does not share this problem like many of her brethren. She has no rust in any of the traditional places including rear quarter panels, doors, front or rear shock towers etc, an exceptional dry climate clean Beamer! Our truly fine BMW Sahara 2002 runs very good. We replaced the belts, spark plug wires and plugs and did an oil change last fall however a valve adjustment would make her run even better. The clutch on her releases where and when it should and all the syncros in the transmission are tight and operation is very respectable for her age with no grinding. The engine and transmission are the original. Many year ago when I was a young lad I had a few of these BMW 2002's and the part I hated about them was they were prone to running hot. This amazing 2002 runs cool all the time! She has never run hot a single time. When fully warmed up and driving is under way the tempature needle always falls under the half way point between the blue coldest and the red hottest. She simply wants to be driven and we unforantly don't have the time any longer to drive her. The new owner will again get a truly exceptional non restored drivers quality 1976 BMW 2002. Our BMW 2002 is not a show room piece or a trailer queen, she is simply an exceptional super clean BMW that turns head as we drive her or when she is parked in town. This BMW is a testimony to "Pride of Ownership" and we sincerely hope the winning bidder will take the same pride we did. She comes with a fully functional spare tire and wheel, factory jack and lug wrench fitted in the proper place along with an Owners book that has stood the test of time, like the car simply amazing. Last year on her 34th birthday she passed the difficult and dreaded California Smog test to renew her registration. When she hits 35 year old the smog test in California will no longer apply to her. Our BMW has a low reserve. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction close via Bank wire or Pay Pal by the Winning Bidder. Bidders with zero feed back must contact me prior to bidding. She is being sold as-is and no warranty is implied. The balance is due within seven days of auction close via Cash in person, Cashiers check or bank wire. Upon clearence of funds seller will overnight Clean California Title, Current California Registration, Owners Book and Sony radio face. Shipping cost is the responsibilty of the buyer and the 1976 BMW 2002 should be picked up within fourteen days of close of auction. Seller will assist buyer in getting to local port or trucking depot. We sincerely appreciate your interest and best of luck to you bidding!
