This is a 1968 VW campmobile that was last used occasianally in 2006, I bought this from my neighbor who is the original owner, this vw was in caliifornia (bought there) til 1994 when neighbor moved here to CT. Needlist to say this was a find for ME, now it can be yours. I have to get rid of this bus before one more familly member falls in love with it because my fixerupper days are gone! Well here's what you want to know________ never ben wrecked, all original body panels etc! Rust and rot exist in both rockers and three floor pans (front driver pan , and the two pans that paralell the rockers. lower front windshield will also need brazing. other than that everything is superfical which will need artistically enhanced body work. I do not know anything about these VW's but I have extensivally dealt in this era BMW, so i was not affraid to buy it for the obviouse reasons of there (that is GERMAN) quality and easeness in restoration. You can not drive this away because all brake lines need to be repaced-- all brake components are functioning excellently except the brake lines ( I fixed one crack in the line but the pressure keeps popping another so I gave up! My fixerup days and patiance are long gone). Engine (amazed vw uzed airplane style engine, i discovered that after I could not find a radiator) Will start and run after I sanded points and gaped them with matchbook cover.. It will need tuneup and oil leek fixed! oil leek is from what looks to be the valve cover, a new one is in the pictures as my neighbor bought this to fix as well as a new throttle cable. All lights work excep front left headlignt, radio turns on but no sound? There is a 110 volt plug in on the drivers side of the bus, I was affraid to plug it in but I guess it runs the fridge, sink, lights etc. Oh- that pop up top has a couple tiny holls in it, there is also some kind of built in canopy (navy blue) who the heck knows what thats for! Also I can tell that front tire doesn't belong there as there is a vw insignia that bolts right nin it's place. OH- i would say it's 85% original paint and the rest was brushed on before going to garage to protect from further deterioration. Well thats the basics Oh I have title etc from origin owner. This is a fixerupper as it has never ben restored in it's 42 year history.. For all you bidders who think this is a creampuff don"t bid. CALLL ME 1-203-483-0055 MIKE KAVANAGH I am not computer savy, so pictures may take a while-- worst comes to worst I'll email them to yuou-- i have 27 pictures of this bus to send you, I do not want to hide anything from a buyer so i took pictures of everything (as you will see it needs a good cleaning in and out!).On Apr-24-10 at 16:15:40 PDT, seller added the following information: **********to answere a couple questions:***************** Two front seats do have holes in vinyl as shown in pics (i think), all rear interior upholstery is perfect, no tears rips etc that i can find. inside wood panels are good except roof panels which need re-veneering or reglueeeing of present veneer (it's a bit dry). spare tyire is in rear with its proper cover which is not perfect but presentable.
