Vehicle Detail

1968 Plymouth Barracuda fastback, 318 V8, Column Shift Automatic. Manual drum brakes and power steering. Factory Air Conditioned car. 121,275 miles, but don't know if this original or not. 14" steel wheels with dog dish caps (small bolt). This car has been my daily driver for the last seven years but it needs some TLC and I don't have the time or place to work on it. The Body: This car has spent most of its life in the Sacramento area. I had it in Cleveland, OH for a few years but never was it driven in the winter. The body is very solid. It has the usual bubbling in the bottom rear of the rear quarters, but otherwise no rust. No rust on rockers or floor pans as seen from below, I didn't lift the carpet. Original color but has been repainted. The body has some damage as seen in the pictures and the right inner fender has a little crinkling indicating it was hit in the front. Trunk pan is good. Bumpers are straight with nice chrome. The Interior: The interior needs some work. I believe that this was originally a bench seat car. The rear seat and cargo area are decent. The front seats need new foam and recovered. The front seat-backs are off. The drivers side is good, but the passenger side is broken. The dash was redone some time ago by Mr. Gs. Dash pad is pretty good. Radio is just set in the slot, not really attached. I don't have the drivers door panel. This is a factory Air-Conditioned car. The under dash unit is missing. The Drivetrain: Runs and drives good but needs some attention. I believe the engine and trasmission are original. The engine has been converted to electronic ignition and the two barrel intake replaced (included if you want it) with a factory four barrel manifold off a 273. The carb is off a 1962 Dodge Dart with a Power Pak engine. It is not the correct style and required the spacer under the carb. As a result, there is currently no choke but I didn't really neeed one in California. I removed the air conditioning compressor (included in sale), but I think all of the rest of the air components are still intact under the hood. Transmission works well. Usually fires right up but as of late sometimes needs a crank or two. I honestly believe a simple tune-up is all it needs. Engine does not smoke but does leak oil. The battery tray is toast. The battery, however, is new. The Suspension: The front-end is somewhat loose. The power steering works fine and doesn't leak. I recently replaced the shackle and bushings with factory components. Tires are fair. This car needs needs work in a numbr of areas but it is a nice solid fastback that is definitely worth restoring. I hate to have to sell it, but as I said, no time and no place for it. Sold as-is. Please look carefully at all of the pictures so you know what you are getting. Email any questions. Buyer makes all arrangements for shipping. I accept Cash (in person) or Cashier's Check. PayPal OK for deposit. Thanks for looking! On Apr-25-10 at 10:25:30 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: It can't really be seen in the pictures and I forgot to mention it, but the front windsheild has a crack about 18" long. It comes down about 6" from the top of the windshield on the drivers side and then turns and runs horizontal towards the passenger's side about 12". I'll try to get a better photo. It is generally above the driver's view, but bottom line is it will need replacement.
