Up for your consideration is a 1978 Solar Gold Trans Am. The Solar Gold TA is still powered by its original w72 400 and still retains its Ws6 Trans am special performance package hardware. The TA is reported to have 49,913 miles. I Do Have a clear title stating “actual mileage”. This TA has some great options, one option is the WS6 PHS documented (Trans Am Special Performance Package). This package has the WS6 components such as bigger sway bars, 15x8 Snowflakes, closer ratio steering box, lower geared rear-end 3:23 and also having the w72 higher HP 400. This package was only available w/ automatics for a short period in 78 because of the fact many w72 400’s were held over for 79. In 79 the w72 400 was only available with a 4speed. Most TA’s in 78 with the Trans Am Special Performance Package came with 4/speeds as well this TA is unique considering it has an automatic with the Trans Am Special Performance Package. PHS verified. Also the TA came with the C60 air conditioning that still works. It has the 62B1 seat upgrade that looks amazing. The y90 trim package in great shape. It also came with paint code 50 Solar Gold. The TA sat for a long time keeping the miles low but because of that there was a need for the motor to be rebuilt in April of 2018 (have receipts). Mileage on the rebuilt motor is very low. The w72 400 was rebuilt and bored .30 w/ forged pistons and slightly bigger cam. The 6X heads were completely gone through at that time as well. The A/C unit was also updated at that time. It does have headers with 2 ½’ stainless Pypes exhaust. The TA was re-sprayed two years ago in its original paint code 50 Solar Gold and the y88 Pin-stripping was added at that time. Paint does have a nice shine to it. Very few blemishes seen upon very close inspection and does have the infamous crack in dash. Heater works, A/C works, dash lights works, lights work, all gauges work, door buzzer works, dome light works in dash clock doesn't always work. Has a retro Pontiac style radio that is iPhone/smart phone compatible. Brand new tires 245/60/15, the TA is a turn key and go car that looks awesome sounds amazing and is not very commonly seen with the Trans Am special performance package especially in Solar Gold.
