THE BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this 1998 BMW is in good to very good 99.99% dry, clean rust-free condition overall. The paint has a very nice overall gleam to the finish. In addition to one small scrape on the right fender and a paint cut on the right rear door, there are a few expected rock nicks, scratches and other blemishes to the body finish commensurate to what one would expect of a twenty-year-old luxury sedan that sold for $69,000 back in 1998. Overall this is still one handsomely striking E38 with a nice stance and a powerful presence.THE INTERIOR As I hope is articulated in the photos, the interior of this non-smoker 1998 BMW is in excellent to superb condition overall with ALL systems, from the cold a/c to the electric seats, windows and sunroof to the factory stereo to the rear sun shade, are in excellent working order. Very minor imperfections inside the car include some bad pixels on the display panel, one rear side window shade missing along with some light wear to the leather and other trim surfaces. Overall, this is absolutely one of THE finest examples of an E38 you will find. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 1998 740il starts perfectly and runs fabulously with very quiet timing chains and superb torquey power and smooth shifting transmission, excellent braking, steering and tracking down the road. The shocks are a bit soft, perhaps still the original, but overall this car is an absolute buttery smooth joy on the open road.
