Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is a gorgeous 2006 Jaguar XKR Victory Edition Convertible with just 65k original miles and finished in beautiful Black Copper Metallic over Ivory Leather. As one of only 382 Victory Edition XKR convertibles, the car is powered by a 390HP 4.2L Supercharged DOHC V8 engine with a six speed automatic transmission that does 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 155mph. The car is fitted with factory 20” three piece Perseus BBS wheels, Brembo cross-drilled discs with red XKR calipers, upgraded leather surfaces, a Momo gearshift knob, carbon fiber veneer trim, a 2-position memory system, Alpine audio system with 6-disc changer, and DVD navigation. The first generation XKR is without question one of the most stunning designs Jaguar’s ever produced, already quickly becoming a classic, and the final year Victory Edition example is consistently considered even more attractive than the 2000-2004 models (which have slightly different front valance/grill styling). I acquired the car in 2013 when its mileage was 35k mi and have enjoyed it thoroughly over the past five years. It’s a joy to drive from behind the wheel, starting effortlessly, idling consistently and pulling strong and smoothly through each of the gears. The ride quality is superb, it drives and brakes straight and true and all of the gauges, switches and systems (including the AC, power seats, heated seats, sports mode, navigation, Alpine stereo, power top, etc.) work as they should. The ride quality is all-at-once tight, precise and comfortable and the car is equally at home while comfortably tooling through town, bombing down the highway or handling aggressively tearing through the canyons. The car’s always been well maintained (although I don’t have every service receipt, especially prior to my ownership), and it’s worth noting that this XKR has required incredibly few repairs throughout its life – it’s an exceedingly well engineered and built model. The most recent and noteworthy services I’ve had performed by a well regarded local Jaguar expert are the 60k service, new brake pads and a replacement alternator, all completed within the last +/-4k miles. As of right now I’m unaware of any mechanical issues that will need to be addressed any time soon. Since photographing the car I’ve decided to make two improvements to make it even more immaculate: I’m having the leather steering wheel professionally reupholstered to original specs (it had some dryness and cracking around the rim) and I’m replacing the mesh front grill with a new OEM insert so that it’s 100% straight, clean and flawless. If you’d like additional photographs of these improvements, please let me know and I’ll forward them to you as soon as everything’s installed, likely later this week. The Copper Black Metallic finish is in excellent condition, marred only by exceedingly minor imperfections that don’t easily appear in any of the photographs. These imperfections are limited to a few little scuffs and a couple in the rock chips in the front valance. The body is entirely straight and all of the glass, rubber and trim are in excellent original condition. The 20” Premium BBS Perseus wheels are also in excellent condition, however BBS utilized a protective trim ring on each wheel and both of the rings on the passenger side have some soft depressions. That being said, replacing the trim rings is not particularly expensive if that’s the next owner’s preference. The car’s Ivory leather interior is great original condition, the leather seats showing only limited wear consistent with a well-cared for, low mileage example, the dash is free of any cracking or warping, the interior panels are free of imperfections and while the carpets aren’t showroom flawless, they’re entirely presentable. There's a small scuff on the carbon fiber dash trim to the right of the navigation screen (can't see it in photographs) and the factory floor mats do show some wear, however new replacements aren’t difficult or expensive to find. The car’s soft top is original and does show some standard cosmetic wear (as shown in the detail photograph), however it remains presentable, has no tears or leaks and shouldn’t need to be replaced any time in the near future. Similarly, the interior headliner has some small areas of discoloration, which is typical for a vast majority of this generation’s models. The car’s trunk is without flaw and retains its original spare tire and the car comes with changing tools, its original books and manuals, two keys, its original Ivory leather boot/top cover (I’ve never used it because I don’t care for how it looks), a clean CARFAX report and its most recent service documents. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a gorgeous, rare, mechanically well-maintained, low mileage, special Victory Edition final year XKR convertible finished in an exceptionally appealing color combination. Its imperfections are minor, its performance is fantastic and it’s easily one of the most beautiful luxury European sports cars of an entire generation, both universally well respected and an incredible value. I hope it will find a new garage as good as its prior and would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have or to schedule showings or inspections. While this is my personal car, I have owned a hobby boutique classic car dealership for 15+ years and will therefore be happy to help with any registration, shipping or logistics questions. The car is titled and stored in Santa Barbara, CA. Please feel free to call or email John at 805-708-2404 to ask any additional questions. Thanks for your interest!
