'56 Morris Minor Convertible "Restoration Project" Offered here for your inspection and consideration, at NO RESERVE, is this 1953 Morris Minor Convertible that has been stored, unused and unregistered, in a sheltered enclosure in sunny, dry Arizona since 1980's. This is the very rare and desirable left hand drive, split windshield model, and also the first year to use the overhead valve motor. We have records indicating the car spent time in Oregon in the 70's and came to Arizona in 1974. The car is complete and intact and an excellent restoration candidate. There is no discernible rust, with the exception of a welded patch in the floor behind the driver's seat. The engine runs, the transmission shifts, the clutch disengages and the brakes work. The doors, boot an bonnet open and close as they should, all the glass is present and in good condition, The dash, instruments, cubby box are all present and intact. The top bows are in good condition, although the white canvas fabric has seen better days. This would be a great opportunity for a complete, original restoration, or maybe a more modern build with disc brakes, 1275 engine with a later model 4 or 5 speed gearbox. Decoding the VIN shows the car was delivered new in dark Gray. Also included with this Morris Minor are extra body parts that have been accumulated, including front fenders (wings), boot lid, wheel covers, front floor board, spare wheel, etc. Although it starts and runs, this example is not drive able in its present condition, after sitting unattended for so many years, so, it will have to be transported to its new home.
