As long-time specialists in the service, repair, and rehabilitation of Discovery's exclusively we know the plus's and minus's of these enduring vehicles very well and we have applied our knowledge and skills to reconditioning this one to a very high standard. Most importantly, we have FULLY OVERHAULED the engine, making it a bit better than even new: the two big problems with these engines - leaking head gaskets and cracked blocks from faulty liners have been addressed. Instead of the weak standard head bolts, we have installed high strength ARP studs, insuring a tight seal on the head gaskets for life. The engine block was sent to the machine shop where it was pressure tested for deadly cracks and fully reconditioned including pressure cleaning, new freeze plugs, decked and line bored. Faulty liners were replaced with "top hat" style and all original liners are "pined" to the block so they stay in place for keeps. Of course, all internal wear items (rings, chain, lifters, bearings, oil pump, etc) and all gaskets were replaced. Additionally, water pump, belt, hoses, thermostat are new and the coils, wires and plugs are new. Suffice to say, about $8000 was spent under the hood! Uniquely, we will back up our work with a Limited 60-day Workmanship GUARANTEE (ask for details). And please, make no mistake, replacing head gaskets only treats a symptom, the real problems remain and will soon resurface: this work is the ONLY lasting solution. Of course, much other work is done to insure your satisfaction : the brakes are all new. The tires are new premium ATs and are a 2" upgrade in size for great ride and ground clearance. The bumpers are solid with the front featuring a light bar with Hella Black Magic driving lights, wired directly to power, The fender flares have been reconditioned. A 3M anti-glare hood decal gives the truck a unique, purposeful look. A ladder and tailight protectors are sharp dress-ups. The windshield is new and the A-pillar covers properly installed. Inside the black leather interior is in terrific condition - no rips, tears, holes or odors. AC was serviced. Lever covers are new. Original equipment LR All-Weather mats are in place including the cargo mat. The headliner was replaced with lifetime material and the sunroof drains were cleared and resealed. Faulty door locks and window lifts were replaced. A loose instrument cluster hood and sticky coin trays were repaired. The paint is very good and, of course, the vehicle history is of NO ACCIDENTS.
