Contact SELLER.Vehicle has not been raced - The TR3A has a strong racing history; racing picture is from 1959... Title is clear and in hand. CA registration is current. VEHICLE HISTORYJANUARY / SEPTEMBER 2017: This TR3A purchased by me from British Car Service in SEPTEMBER 2017. Not being a mechanic, it was important for me to make sure the car arrived in the best mechanical condition possible. I wanted British Car Service to inspect, repair, replace or upgrade "everything" so when I got the car I could rely on it being in peak mechanical condition. See INSPECT, REPLACE, REPAIR and/or UPGRADEOCTOBER 2017 - Before TR3 arrived, I purchased a Coverking Custom Car Cover from CARID and an Electric Cooling Fan from Moss Motors to increase cooling and horsepower. They are included in the sale...NOVEMBER 2017 - I had a terrible fall and injured my left foot; full disability. I will not be able to drive a manual transmission normally.JULY / AUGUST 2018 - Why I am selling my fantastic TR3A... It took me a few months before I accepted my disability. I am selling all my manual shifting cars...TR3A, 1963 Corvette, 1976 FJ43, etc... I thought about trying to convert my TR3A to an automatic but decided against it. INSPECT, REPLACE, REPAIR and/or UPGRADE (work done January - August 2017).....ENGINE: New Points and rotorNew Clutch slave and master cylinder Rebuilt carburetorsNew Heater valveReplaced all hoses and beltsNew Wiring harnessNew Fuse box Rebuilt wiper motor .....UNDERCARRIAGE: New Wire wheelsNew Brake pads, New Brake hoses, New Brake Master cylinder, New Rear wheel cylinders, New Rear sealsRebuilt front suspension Clean/inspect and grease all splined hub extensions Rebuilt front brake calipers Repack front wheel bearings .....INTERIOR: New Windshield New Steering wheelNew Temp gauge.....EXTERIOR:New Front Bumper and Overriders, New Rear Bumper OverridersNew Gas capNew Headlight trim rings Paint - not part of this "restoration" and I would give it a 9/10...10 being concours. The finish is smooth, no imperfections I can see. I was totally satisfied. ________________________________________________________________________________________ MY DRIVING EXPERIENCE:I drove the car less than 100 miles after it arrived in September 2017. In that short time I pursued my roadster fantasy driving the backroads in the foothills near Sacramento. The roads are twisty with minimal traffic, lots of bends, nonpareil gradual hills, ups and downs, beautiful weather - what the true roadster devotee would want. When I first started the car I was blown away by the rumble from the exhaust. No gimmicks, just the perfect hmmm. Getting used to the clutch, I put it in 1st gear, and pressed the gas a bit more than I needed and literally burned rubber for a few feet while I corrected. My thoughts were WOW. I made sure I was buckled in, my mirrors perfectly adjusted. Here we go... I accelerated gradually, shifted to 2nd - it was like butter. I went up to about 3500 and shifted to 3rd. It was so smooth. Thinking back I don't know if I shifted to 4th before my first stop... I do know the ride was better, way better than I ever imagined it would be. In this area, homes are far apart, 1/4 to miles between neighbors. What I do remember is everyone who was close enough to hear me coming (the rumble), looked up and smiled and waved. We shared that experience. This description doesn't do that first ride justice, it was that good. Although my disability precludes the joys of shifting, it will never prevent me from enjoying such driving experiences if I can just find some sort of roadster imitator with an automatic tranny. There isn't anything that matches a TR3A... ________________________________________________________________________________________ Questions from Bidders: 1. Why are you selling your car?I injured my left ankle in December 2017 just a couple of months after buying the TR3. I am not able to push the clutch pedal to shift and so I am selling all my manual shifting cars. 2. I have never owned a TR3 and wondered why you bought yours?John, I owned my first TR3 in 1964 when I was in high school. I loved the low-cut door that allowed me to touch the ground while in the car. For me, no other car gives me the openness of the cockpit that I get from the TR3. I love convertibles and manual shifting. I love the sound this car makes when I drove it. It has a low rumble that makes people look up when I drive by... One important thing - when you are on the road, just cruising at 60 really enjoying the ride - this car is so smooth, before you know it you're going 80. Hope this helps. 3. Is this car fully restored?Teddy - I'll let you make up your own mind as to whether this is a fully restored car. I see other cars being described as having full restorations 4, 5 and 10 years ago. My opinion is any car claiming a full restoration even 2 years ago is the same as any other car unless they tell you what they did. In fact, there was one ad with a 10 year old restoration. 10 Years!!!! Who cares???? The real question is "What did they do?" A full restoration to one person may mean something completely different to another person. I think instead of "full restoration", tell me things like replaced carburetors or rebuilt brakes, NEW windshield, new tires... These are things I can check out. This TR3A has gone through what I believe was a meticulous mechanical restoration. I think the people who worked on the car went through every system and inspected, replaced, repaired or upgraded whatever was needed. Lots of new stuff. Was it a frame off mechanical restoration? Call it what you will, they definitely did a lot of work. As you can see from the photos the paint is fantastic - I rate it 9/10 (at least). Beyond that, you are welcome to come and inspect the car before you buy it. I think it is worth every penny of $22,000. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Auction Termination: Vehicle is being advertised locally.
