1959 BMW R69 WITH ONLY 8,506 DOCUMENTED MILES! Selling a very beautiful original 1959 R69 that is in great condition. Great collector motorcycle, as everyone knows these vintage BMW’s are very desirable and valuable. I feel like one of the most important features of this bike is I have documents and maintenance records that proves (see pic) the actual mileage on this bike was 7,600 miles. It’s always easy to say the bike is low mileage, but being able to prove it is a very important feature. I will include all of the maintenance records with the sale of the bike. Before I started riding the bike, I was unsure about the low mileage, but the speedometer and odometer are working great. With the maintenance documents, I am 100% confident that this is a true 8,506 mile bike. The gentleman I purchased this bike from had 6 vintage BMW’s, so none of his bikes ever had many miles put on them. The second most important feature of this vintage BMW is it’s an all matching numbers bike. All four numbers match. Motor, frame, ID plate and title, I do have a clear Florida title in my name. I also have a tool kit and factory owners manual that will go with the sale. The bike starts on the first kick and runs great. Pulls strong, transmission shifts smoothly up and down. The charging system is working perfectly and charging at 7.2 volts (see pic). Compression is a solid 120 PSI (see pic) Original bar end turn signals work great. High and low beam headlight works great, horn nice and loud, brake light and running lights working. The original sealer in the tank looked great, but after 59 years most old tanks could use a little attention. I have been working on these bikes for many years, nothing is more frustrating than thinking the original sealer is good, then painting the tank and having problems. So I have always cleaned the inside of the tank with MEK, and then seal the tank twice with Red Coat Sealer. Never had an issue by taking the extra steps, this tank was done exactly that way, two coats of sealer. The bike was is so nice, I decided to have the tank and fenders painted, after 59 years. The bikes fenders and tank needed a little freshening up. As you can see in the pics, the painter did a very nice job. This bike will make an excellent rider and a great investment. I sold a non-matching number R69 about 6-7 months ago that had a lot of miles on it for $9,000. About 3 years ago I sold a completely restored matching numbered R69 for the upper twenty thousand dollar range. These bikes are always great investments. I will try and list some of the things I have done for this bike, I always miss a few items, but I always document what was done with receipts and pics. Carburetors completely disassembled and cleaned in a heated ultrasonic cleaner, completely rebuilt (see pic) and the carb flanges were machined. Over time these flanges get a slight bevel from over tightening. If this is not corrected air can get sucked into the heads and the bike will not run properly. This item has been corrected (see pic) Correct matching carbs 1/26/91 and 1/26/92 (see pic) Valves were set at .006” and .008”. Magneto was disassembled and cleaned, to make sure you have a good hot spark. Brand new coil installed (see pic) this always helps with a good consistent spark. New correct Bosch spark plugs, new spark plugs wires and caps. New drive shaft boot, new knee pads for tank. New hand grips. New Interstate gel battery, (these last 4-5 times longer and will not leak) new gas cap rubber seal, better than the old cork seals. Upgraded aluminum deep oil pan was removed cleaned and a new gasket was installed (see pic). When I removed the oil pan, there was no buildup of old dirty oil, very clean. This shows the bike was maintained very well. All others fluids were drained and refilled to factory specs. The only item that is not working is the neutral light, very minor item. The bike shifts great and goes into neutral very easily. 95% of everything else on this 59 year old bike works great! The bike comes with a tool kit, factory manual and a ton of maintenance records (see pic) New Dunlop D404 tires, tubes and rim straps were installed (see pic). I use these exact same tires on my daily rider /2 conversion with a R90S motor. Fuel shut off valve, disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt with all new parts (see pic) New fuel line and two inline fuel filters. I can also send videos of the bike starting on the first kick and the bike driving down the road. I’ve always said if you can see the bike going down the road, you know it’s all there and working. I’m selling this vintage BMW as a rider, not a Concours quality restoration. For all of you hard core purists, please do not leave any negative comments about your opinion on what you feel might not be correct on a 59 old vintage motorcycle. If you can provide documents and a photo that you were there 59 years ago when this BMW was being built, I will gladly entertain your comments. Buyer will be responsible for shipping and handling costs. My zip code is 33868. Please do not ask me how much shipping is, there are too many variables. It just works out much better for the buyer to get their own quotes. If you do not have any Ebay history, no buys, or feedback I will not accept your bid. I did get burned a few years ago when I sold a BMW to someone that did not follow through with his winning bid. I have sold numerous vintage BMW’s with an exceptional feedback rating on EBay, winning bidder must pay a $500 nonrefundable deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Only payment accepted will be a wire transfer from a well-known bank or cash. Wire transfers are the best option because Bank Officials are involved, this eliminates any scams.I currently do not know the entire history of this beautiful BMW. I can tell you when I found out a gentleman in south Florida had a 1955 R69 with a Steib sidecar for sale I went to look at that bike. The gentleman selling the sidecar rig also had the 1959 Dover white bike and a original Police green R27. He was getting up in age and downsizing. While negotiating the deal on the bike / bikes. I found out he was a very interesting and intelligent individual. He worked for the CIA and traveled the world and met some extremely interesting people. The sidecar rig was bought new by the Police Department in Santiago Chile South America and used as a escort vehicle for high ranking government officials (documented). He also told me he was best friends with the Chief of Police and that is how he knew about and bought the sidecar rig. He did tell me that he bought all three of these about the same time. The Police green bike was purchased by the Police Department, just not sure where it was used. I feel like the 1959 Dover white bike might have been used also by the Police Department. When I purchased the bikes from south Florida, there were two Police Departments in the Miami are that were using BMW's for patrols. Since the gentleman I purchased all three bikes, worked for the CIA his entire career and traveled the world, I'm sure the 1959 Dover white bike has a interesting history. A good friend of mine around the Daytona area just purchased a vintage BMW that was owned by a King. You just never know some of the interesting history these beautiful vintage bikes have! This bike is a great daily rider, always draws a lot of attention. Great looking 59 old vintage BMW in the very elegant Dover white. This bike will be sold “as is” and the factory warranty expired long ago. All of my sales on EBay are 100% related to BMW vintage bikes and I have 100% positive feedback and want to keep it that way so you can confidently bid with a fair and honest seller.
