Vehicle Detail
NOTE: this is a '66 bike. The '67' that appears in the title is my typo which eBay -- in its continuing and infinite wisdom -- will not permit me to correct. Sorry for the confusion. Offered is a 1966, Honda, CB77, 305 Superhawk. I purchased this motorcycle complete and in running condition from the original owner. The bike was disassembled and restored to its current condition. All body pieces were repainted. The frame and all frame components were mediablasted and powdercoated. The cylinder head and cylinders were removed for inspection. The valves were found to be in excellent shape and were lightly lapped-in prior to reassembly. Cylinders bores were in excellent shape and the original pistons were reinstalled with new OEM rings. All new OEM upper end gaskets were used. As far as I know the mileage showing on the odometer (11,700) is correct. The forks were disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with fresh oil and new seals. The rear shocks are original. The wheels were disassembled, the hubs polished and reassembled with non-Honda rims of the correct size. The tires are modern Heidenaus of correct size and style. The handlebars were replaced with new non-Honda bars. Front and rear brake cables, clutch cable, speedometer, and tachometer cables are NOS. The air filters and rubber connector tubes to the carburetors are NOS. The tank badges and foot peg rubbers are NOS. The passenger peg rubbers are original. The right side, chrome gas tank cover is dented (See Pictures). The seat pan, foam, and cover are all original. The exhaust system is all original with the exception of the removable baffles which are missing. I had a patch welded to the right hand muffler (See Pictures) to fix a hole that was, according to the original owner, punched by an encounter with a rock. There is no rust on either muffler. Some case screws are incorrect. The fuel lines were replaced with Tygon Fuel line with inline fuel filters. The stock battery hold down strap is missing. One of the seat hold down bolts is not original. The two mirrors almost, but do not match each other. Although the bike is not absolutely original, it is virtually indistinguishable from original. It is absolutely deovoid of cheap repo parts that so many other bikes present these days. All restoration done to the bike was done with the idea that it would be a reliable, usable rider. I have ridden this bike the complete 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway twice with no mechanical issues. On each trip the bike averaged 65 mpg and the engine used no oil. All lights, the horn, the electric starter and the charging circuit work as designed. The bike has a legal Florida title and is ready to ride. Near offers considered.
