2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS Car being sold by owner because of lack of funds and time to maintain it. This car can be repaired and driven, or can be used for its many new and used parts. It has been stored for two years outdoors because it was considered unsafe to drive with rusted shock tower which is pushing up hood. It started and ran well this week (July 15, 2018) after two years of storage but was rough idling before storage. It was hooked up to a strong battery in my other car when I started it recently and it ran smoothly. The battery may have been the problem but it was never diagnosed. (Video recording of engine while running this week, but not sure how to share.) New parts during two years I drove it: steering pump and serpentine belt, fuel pump, timing belt and crankcase sensor, front catalytic converter, headlamps/lights, hatch lifters, spark plug wires. The car still has the original temporary spare, jack and lug wrench. The interior is in fair condition. The console compartment lid is missing. The dash has a few cracks that I was told happened during a repair. No more information on that. Seats are in pretty good shape except for needing a good cleaning. All four floor mats are present. All seat belts working. Air conditioning works fine. Electric windows and locks work but no fob remote to control locks. Rear defrost works. Side dash panel access (facing door) cover on passenger side doesn't stay on but can easily be fixed. Back shelf behind seat that covers trunk is present and in good shape. The radio works but when battery was removed it required a code which I was never given. Didn't pursue it. CD player works but is old and occasionally skips and doesn't always eject well. The car has the wiring for a Viper alarm/remote start that I didn't know about until I replaced battery and alarms started up. No manual or control fob when purchased so I cut siren wire and removed control module so I could get into the car. I have the module in storage somewhere but won't offer it here unless I find it. The car isn't vacuumed or cleaned. I don't live where it's stored and have little time and no electricity at location. The exterior is pretty good with little rust. Below doors there was rust I began to repair but after putting in storage didn't bother. So there's some Bondo on it and it rusted through. There's some minor rust around wheel wells. Muffler was good when I started it this week. The sun roof was caulked shut by previous owner so it obviously leaked but not sure whether it works. The driver side tire is going flat. All tires are pretty low on tread but not completely bald. I have many photos to show the condition of the car. I couldn't get under the car so none there. Please note final photo was taken a few months before storage but not much has changed and it was a better view without other junk and cars around it. If you would like to look at the car in person I will arrange a day for everyone as requests come in. I'm not able to travel back and forth more than once. I'm selling the car as-is. I'm not a mechanic and only somewhat mechanically inclined so I can't give information for which I have no knowledge. I initially was going to list for local sale but with the shipping options available now, I decided to sell to anyone but the buyer will be responsible for shipping.
