This is a Relatively Rare DS 250 (IE) She Looks A Lot Like a TS 250 ER SUZUKI with factory SUZUKI Lights, ALLOY D.I.D. Wheels & Factory Tuned Exhaust & Nice Factory Suzuki Quiet Spark Arrestor Muffler. This is SUZUKI's Equivalent of YAMAHA's IT (I believe "INTERNATIONAL SIX DAY Trials" Day & Night off road Racing Motorcycle) ..These DS 250's Are Very Fast + Far More Advanced & Very Light weight & FAR Better Balanced & Superior Suspension etc etc etc as Compared to the 1969 -1981 Suzuki's "Ho Hum" TS 250 Enduro...Which a Nice Example of TS 250 NADA.com Value Guides for $7,000.00 These DS 250's are rare enough that Nada has no value data for Her....I have had 2 TS 250's & I can tell you without question this is BY FAR the Superior Motorcycle in it's Handling, Nimbleness & Speed Capabilities (and any other performance way I can think of to measure the two bikes). The TS 250 is Relatively Clumsy, Heavy & Slow in Comparison. If for some reason ..Again, If you would like to register this bike for 100% Street Use Or If you want to go cow trail ridding on California etc Government National Forest Land etc land & feel you a may want a National Forest etc DMV "Green Sticker" My Vehicle Registration Office said that because this bike had been in covered storage for SOooo many years (the last 3+ decades) therefore if you live here in California & feel for some reason you want or feel you need a California Forestry Land Green sticker (to ride in Government Forest etc Land) or get her back in the System again for a Street Legal b bike Again it will be Easy because this bike is currently "Off the DMV Computer records System" & therefore Again..there will be"NO" back fees (as after about 10 or 12 years DMV computer records fall off the DMV Computers) and Again, this California National Forest sticker or street Tags & Registration etc etc is not required for MX & Other Race tracks and also NOT required for Vintage Shows & Vintage Bike Meets etc etc etc here in California & a California Nat. Forest Green sticker is not required if you live out of state etc etc (IE)....Even if the Original 1981 title was present ...the bike has been in storage for 35 years..at this time as indicated (after approx.10 years) & particularly after 35 years There are no computer records in the DMV for this bike.. Therefore, the process of registering the bike would be exactly the same as it would if the old title was present or not.. The Notarized DMV Transfer of Ownership reassignment for (equiv.bill of sale) I will be providing basically determines how much sales tax the new buyer will be paying, a 35 dollar DMV transfer fee & a new current license Sticker or National Forest Off Highway Sticker or my favorite "Title Only" (Again, as indicated above there will be NO back Registration fees, NO fines & NO penalties etc. etc)...(IE) Again, either way, the DMV etc would still have to Verify the Vin # & reissue a new title for the vehicle either way (old defunked title or not) ..either way the process would be the same at this time....Please feel free to email me again & or call me if you have any further questions on this.. This wonderful Bike was Originally Sold here in Southern Calif Originally as a Dual (Day & Night off road bike with lights) the Original owner lived near the National Forest area & bought the bike for more off road use & it looks like he may have sometimes used her on the street ..I was told after a while sold his cabin & since that time this Wonderful Bike has sat in Dry Storage Since approx.1984 according to the Original Owners Son.. When I bought Her He had a box full of the Street Gear & all seems to work good. the Tachometer & Speedometer we also reinstalled But I have not hooked the tach & speedo up electrically etc However I do have he Tach & Speedo Drives for her etc & also she does not have a horn or stop light switch However All of Her Handlebar electrical Controls (IE) Engine On /Off & Headlight "High & Low" beam Controls ALL seem to WORK GREAT She also has Her wiring to the rear tail light Last license tags were 1983..we have been Cosmetic Restoration ...that we are just now completing You Will be the First New Owner since her Cosmetic Restoration was completed !!!!! & YES ! SHE STARTS & RUNS GREAT ! ! ! I think This STUNNING , VERY SPIRITED & GOOD RUNNING Bike is a DREAM ! These DS 250 bikes Though I think are very fast ...are FAR MORE FORGIVING & Less Explosive to Ride as compared to a Dirt Racing TM 250's & RM 250 ...as the DS 250 have a little more Torque, Smoother Running + Better Idling (Due to her FAR Greater flywheel Action) & Therefore These AMAZING DS 250s are Far More Controllable & FAR Easier to Start compared to the Typical 250cc TM & RM 400 Dirt Racers....* * PLEASE NOTE: this DS 250 (a DS is very light Weight & has Working head Light She Looks a lot like Suzuki's of the 250 TM or a little like a RM 250 W/Lights SUZUKI Is I think this may be one of the latter more refined years of the FAR Simpler & FAR More RELIABLE & DURABLE Vintage RACE-ABLE Air Cooled DS 250 Two Stroke Engines & I believe this is also a "Vintage Race-able ..Original Suzuki DS 250 style Piston Port + Original style DUAL SHOCK, REAR SWING ARM SUSPENSION SYSTEM" this makes this DS 250 a little like a TM 250 & / or a RM 250 ..Like the earlier DS 250's.... Best of all I think these are designed as a Day & Night Off Road racer (IE) for SIX DAY TRAILS off road racing bike with lights or a "International Six Day Trails" or ENDURO off road racer with lights & Factory Muffler with Spark Arrestor etc etc etc & Not just Dirt Racing Only !...Please keep in mind She has a "Working Headlight" & ALL of her Charging Circuit+Lights are present with the Main Part of the Original SUZUKI Wire loom exiting the engine's Alternator Charging circuit..This bike was at one time I think re-purposed for more off road..I think she will her tachometer & speedometer gauges re-reconnected & a stop light switch & Horn I think to be a street bike ....I have seen several of SUZUKI DS 's & PE 's and YAMAHA IT 's that people that make them into a more Street " Bobber " (Cafe Racers) Bikes .. (3 of my bikes went to just Miami Florida ! last year !!!) Many People also use these for Vintage Dirt & ENDURO RACING Bikes ... I believe her Vintage Race-able Super Simple & relatively Easy to Work On "Air Cooled" + "Two Stroke" Racing engine & Dual Rear Shock SWING ARM rear suspension With Nice Rear Shocks etc etc *Again, This AMAZING Great Running Bike is a Dream with her AMAZING Balance & She Feels Very Nimble , Dirt Racing SUZUKI's Are Famous for their GREAT TURNING ability & are Light weight , & Handle very Natural & feel Extremely AGILE ..I feel ..Most Enthusiasts agree these SUZUKI DS 250's are GREAT Super Fun Dual Day & Night off road Vintage Racing Bikes. More Cosmetic Restoration details:This Vintage Racing 1979 SUZUKI DS 250 has her Original SUZUKI Factory Exhaust, High Quality Upgrade UNI Air Cleaner . & She has a ELSINORE Factory original 250 seat & as you can see.. that Looks GREAT on Her !!!. We also Cleaned the Entire Fuel system & added a Quality Inline Fuel Filter we thoroughly cleaned Here Factory Suzuki "High Performance" Air Cleaner Canister, & "We Installed The VERY BEST "MODAL" Trans Mission Oil". The Front and rear suspension visually looked good & appear to work Great & it's Suspension seals did not appear to be leaking at this time so other than to clean them & refinished the lower Alloy fork legs etc etc (IE) as far as fluid levels etc. they are just as we received them and we have not tested the suspension as we are just now getting the Bike Running again & completing the cosmetic restoration on this Beautiful Bike, Over and Beyond this...In Her Cosmetic Restoration process..We removed most Every Main Component on the bike...nearly all the way down to her "Bare Frame" + Cleaned & refinished most every main component then hand reassembled ~every main item back onto her frame again "Piece by Piece".. She has I believe a Original Vintage 250 SUZUKI Fuel tank that was extremely clean inside (as You should be able to see in the included pictures) we repainted her & added Brand New "VINTAGE" SUZUKI Graphic were just installed. We also cleaned, painted & refinished the; Frame, Hubs, Spokes, Exhaust Pipe (Tuned Factory SUZUKI Original Exhaust system) & Her Original SUZUKI Exhaust Spark Arrestor Muffler. She has Headlight & Taillight etc & we repainted her Nice Front fender & her rear fender etc.& we painted everything to match to a look very close to what I think a ROGER DeCOSTERs Early 1970's DeCoster MX race bike 'Tribute' I made his bike look just like the other bike I Showed at the Worlds Largest M/C Show)..So She would look like a lot like a TM 250's & RM's would have looked NEW like back in the day ! . We installed Brand New High Quality Vintage style rubber handlebar Hand Grips. Her Transmission Gears Shift GREAT, Her Clutch Releases & Grips GREAT !!! She is just coming out of Dry Storage Important thing is the Clutch does Grip GREAT & the more she runs the better She works. She has BRAND NEW Gear Box OIL "MODOL" which is said to be the Very Best Gear oil you can get) She looks to have Her her Original Fork Tube Rubbers which I think look & Feel almost like Brand New looking Rubber Fork Tube Boots, She has almost "BRAND NEW" looking Vintage style MX Racing handlebars. Unlike many dirt bikes this Beauty also has a side stand. if you would like to, she has updated clutch & front brake levers have also been updated as were her AMAZING "BRAND NEW Front & Rear Tires along the way. Her Shifter , Clutch, Brakes, kick Starter Levers + Foot pegs etc All seems to work GREAT & do not appear to have any real noticeable wear & or damage to them .. : * * PLEASE NOTE: We are just completing her Brand New cosmetic Restoration (as detailed above etc)...& "YOU" can be the Very First Owner of this Beautiful Bike since this was completed ! Harbor areas & Millions of Trucks leave this area every day all you need to do is find a truck that has a little space & that is headed in your direction & I am sure the price would be a lot better for you than with some trucker that is not !
