This started out as a brand new SSR ST125A-8A minibike w/ a monkey bike look. With new tank, seat, bars, wheels and tires we converted this into a very clean, street legal Z50R look alike. The beauty of going with the SSR frame, which is identical to the Z50R frame, is that it has an actual street legal title. With the headlight, brake light, turn signals and horn, this is completely safe and legal for driving around town. With my (160 lb) weight on the bike, I can cruise at 50 mph but can reach 55 mph easily if i tuck down and pin it. It gets about 60-70mpg.The engine is a 125cc Skyteam (lifan type) motor w/ manual 1-down, 3-up gearbox. The 8" wheels came from an original Z50R with new street tread tires installed. It has a new 6" longer billet aluminum rear swing arm. It has an actual hydraulic disc brake in the front. The front forks are longer travel and actually have oil and valving as opposed to the springy old Z50R forks. The exhaust is a high flow system from T-Bolt USA. The intake utilizes a high flow, easy to clean UNI filter w/ sand screen. We even installed new billet pegs.This is a bottom-up complete build to be the absolute best Z50R possible. I have an actual Z50R I use for off-road use but have absolutely loved cruising this bike around town and to work. It starts and runs like an absolute champ.
