Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration today is a real solid surviving 1968 Chrysler Newport convertible. 383 engine with an automatic transmission. Runs and drives nice. Drive as you fix her up! Fun to drive and gets thumbs up all the time! Electric convertible top. I recently bought this from a neighbor of mine who took it on trade on his classic car. From what I understand it is an original PA car that came to Omaha Ne in about 1980. A lady owned it for most its life and it Was garaged. The body is nice. There are no rust holes or rust issues. It had a light respray in the original color years ago. There appears to be no bondo or body filler anywhere. There are scratches and chips and some small dings. It is faded / checked. With a little time and a buffer and compound I think it would look real good. The trunk floor is scaly from moisture under the original trunk mat. The under body is excellent. Frame rails and floors are very nice. See pictures. Overall a straight real solid body Mopar Convertible. Chrome is all there. It is straight. Shows its age. Grill headlight bezels and rear tail light housing all good and straight. See pictures. Glass is all good. The engine is a 383, 2 barrel. Automatic transmission. Power steering and brakes. Brakes, drives, handles well. Tires are older non radials. All hubcaps are there. Radio works. Glove box lock is broken. Horn, lights, signals work fine. The fender tag is there and I have the original build sheet. To sum it up I have a good driving solid original surviving 1968 Chrysler Convertible. You can shine her up, do a little tweaking and enjoy her year after year. Or do a full blown restoration. All Complete car. It is 50 years old so it is sold as is. I have a Ne resale certificate I've had for over 20 years. Superior Auto 4521 S 88th in Omaha Ne. I'm semi retired and like to collect Mopars. This car takes up a lot of room and I'm just looking to make room by selling it. Negative or 0 feed back EBAY members must contact me prior to bidding or I will block your bid. These auctions cost money. Please be a serious bidder. I would consider having the car shipped due to it's age and the old tires. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Car is in my storage building. About 1 mile off I-80. If you have any further questions call me. Bernie at 402 733 7760 Thanks and good luck! On Jun-14-18 at 08:36:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I'd like to add a few things here today. First off I may be a little more critical of the car in my description than I should. I want you to feel good about bidding on this car. Buying on the world wide web can be scary. Please check my feedback as I am a straight shooter in my descriptions. I want you to know exactly what your buying here. I did install the plugs cap wires and rotor. Car runs and drives well. Starts and runs better now too. This really is a great surviving car. Trying to find any Mopar that doesn't require a lot of rust repair is quite rare. Especially in a Convertible. Again, This car is very solid. I went over the car closely and see no patch work, no filler, or sheet metal replacement. about the only issue you'll have is the trunk floor. And it's not THAT terrible either, but non the less will need some attention. The only reason for sale is room. The reserve is getting close. Thanks for all the questions and interest. Bid to own! Summertime drop top season is here! What a great fun car this is!
