Vehicle Detail
1966 Honda Scrambler CL77 The CL77 was one of the first “off road” dual sport bikes offered by Big Red. If you ever heard the Scrambler back in the day, you won’t forget the sound of the high pipes with open “Snuff R Nots”. The 1966 CL77 305 Scrambler was the first bike I ever owned. I have restored and refurbished more bikes than I can even count. I have had many featured in Motorcycle Classics, Classic Bike, The Horse, Hot Rod Bikes, and so on. I believe I do a fairly credible job of bringing these bikes back from the dead. I built this one as my own personal bike and now it is time to pass it on to someone that can appreciate it. Bid if you are that person. This bike has been “refurbished” down to the crankshaft. It has NOS tank badges that are extremely hard to impossible to find. It has the NOS rubber kneepads on the tank . Try finding a vented chain guard or a set of exhaust pipes. Track down a speedometer with zero miles, an uncut front fender brace. Every fastener has the head markings removed and polished. Very detailed. You can spend years just finding parts to make a bike this nice, and only then can the building process start. This bike would cost you $15-20 to duplicate IF you could find the parts. The bike runs great and has been drained of gas. There is no gas in the tank. It has been coated and no fuel will be put in it. I was not going to ruin the inside with crappy gas. The carbs are drained as well. It is stored indoors, climate controlled, and covered and on a battery tender. The bike has a clean title as a 1966 Honda Scrambler. The frame and original engine are within a few digits ,which is also rare. If the bike doesn’t meet reserve, I will drain the fluids and put it in my office where I can enjoy it every day. You could do the same. The pictures really tell the story. Look closely. You will not be disappointed. The bike can be picked up or inspected here or I can put it on a skid and crate it for minimal charge.
